Best/Worst 2025 FA Signings: Cowboys/Ex-'Boys

Thomas was better than Peyton and Murray. That PFF ranking is sus.

Murray wasn't a free agent. We traded for him and Elam. But both were much, much worse than Thomas, who I thought played pretty decently as a sub.

Thomas signed a two-year deal, so he should be back. He, Winfrey and Houston are all still under contract. Fowler and Turner were on one-year "prove-it" deals, and they didn't prove it.

I think Solomon Thomas has a lot of competition in Murray, Turner, and Sanborn.

Oooh, you are right about Murray being a trade, not a free agent. Solomon Thomas was decent depth. Peyton Turner was a complete bust, never got on the field.

Dallas has hit on some 2nd and 3rd picks after all, but then let them walk. Crazy.

It's because they wanted max deals here. Once they realized they had very little market the price came down to their play level.

Solomon Thomas the worst? Guard Rob Jones, DE Payton Turner, or even RB Miles Sanders should have that title. Thomas was a useful vet in the DL rotation.

The other guys got hurt and contributed nothing outside of Sanders' 117 yards in 4 games.

They surely got the best out of that.

Ferguson is ok. He isn't worth that big contract. Schultz is better and wouldn't have cost that much.

I don't blame them for wanting max deals. Why play for a dysfunctional organization when you can win a title and be happier elsewhere?

You can’t sign everyone. Some
Guys you have for 4 years and replace them. Guys like Gholston and Chido were that.

Schultz costs more than Feguson and is older. He is due 16M this year. He was bad last year but good this year.
But Ferguson has concussion issues which would have kept from resigning him. And he was trash this year fighting through injuries.

Ferg I thought had a higher ceiling and he did but it seems the injury has derailed what once looked like a potential top 5 in the league type guy. But in this offense it seems he’s just a safety blanket for Dak and a redzone threat. Certainly a argument to be made you shouldn’t pay that.
