Of course, the whole thing about being the highest paid (in whatever area you choose) is nothing but stupid. It's a 99.99999999% chance that that "top" contract will be exceeded in short order, often in a few days, if not weeks, or depending on the timing, a year.

But egos take over...

Dak will probably hold out for more and Jerry will give it to him. He really doesn't have much choice .
More importantly now that all of the leaves have fallen on these other QB’s contracts the Market Price has been set .

No one received more than 55. That has to set the stage and where I’d expect the offer was. Why would Dak expect to receive more than Market Price ?

The bigger news IMO is Cowboys are intent on resigning him which dispels all of the talk about letting him walk.

If he demands more than that, hit the bricks, Dak. Besides he is not here for the money.

JJ will roll them dice and give Dak $60 mil and call it good.

I’m thinking it’s going to be less than 60 but more than 55 setting the new Market Price .

Based on all the news swirling around I’d expect we hear something soon. And possibly Lamb is signed first. But it’s looking like it all could go down this week.

I don’t think Jerry has the intestinal fortitude to do what’s right and let Dak walk, that said he is getting everything he wants which is keeping the Cowboys in the news and relevant and that is Jerry’s main goal. Unfortunately Dak will get paid and Jerry will be telling everyone what a deal he got at only 62 million a year and how he got a home team deal. Sad but the writing on the wall always has been and I be shocked and extremely happy if he lets Dak walk, but it’s just not happening
Man, I have a feeling if Dak walks, there’s gonna be a few years where I’m semi rooting for other teams down the stretch in seasons cuz the cowboys will be out of the race…..like Quincy Carter years. I watch a LOT of football, not just the Cowboys, so I half root for other teams as like 2nd-3rd “fave” teams while cowboys are ALWAYS #1….its hard those seasons where cowboys out of It early and the last several weeks are lost…..gotta find SOME joy in the rest of the season since football is the only sport I watch and off seasons are looooong.

If you’re going to bet on the Cowboys signing Dak, I wouldn’t bet a lot.

It could be a little more, however, that depends on how greedy Dak is and if he really wants to "be here" and "bring rings to the Cowboys". At this point, from his "I'm only here so I won't get fined"...then the next day, he just loves it here, best shape, runs faster.

Let's just say, IMO, I do not trust anything he says or does at this time, or on the football field.

That’s great, I prefer change after 8 poor seasons of the QB choking, like you Jerry doesn’t like the unknown and would rather relevancy and status quo because it’s easier than fixing it.

That's because Jerry is so rich and powerful in the NFL, that I don't really think he wants to win a SB.

As a narcissist he thinks he can, and he won't let someone out of his little rich circle help him do it.

I bet he has an IT offices monitoring fan reaction and that is all that matter.

Love me, give me credit...I'm a HOF GM, damn.

And that’s assuming he’s capable of fixing it. Lol

He obviously wants to win a SB. But not bad enough to get out of the way.

I get the hesitancy about Dak, he didn’t do himself favors with playoff performances….,but neither did Elway until they got TD, and Dak was a borderline MVP last year. How many people are MVP caliber during the season AND has playoff killer instinct? VERY hard to find a QB that can do both, just sucks that Dak gets shook in the playoff and can’t seem to fight his way through it.

Elway made the SB in year 3 I believe great QBs show high end talent early Dak has shown the ability to disappear in the playoffs hard to believe a QB who hasn’t sniffed a CCGin 8 seasons is winning anything without 25 HOF type players at every position and the Defense being the greatest in NFL history. No one would say or have any problem with Dak if he showed something special come playoff time, it’s a real shame Jerry will condemn the Cowboys to failure for as many years as he extends Dak for because he’s to old to take a chance on changing it.

Yeah, sucks that we are in this limbo of “success”…but not when it matters….makes it hurt more when we lose.

Bla bla bla, you'll be here and you'll be watching games. You guys and your ultimatums never follow through. Sorry man, we've all got the same sickness.

Maybe you can watch without pulling out your hair though. That would still be progress for most.
LOL Yeah plus if the Cowboys lose, he'll be here to beat up on Dak. He wouldn't pass up a chance like that. LOL

I honestly think this was always the plan. They were never going to let him leave. I have a feeling Stephen knew back in March/April exactly how much it was going to cost to extend Dak. He wanted to see if he could get done for a little less..........hint, Jerry waiting for the leaves to fall comment.
