Bet on Cowboys signing Prescott

Maybe, but the highest paid now is $55 million per year, I think it's might nigh impossible any team would give Dak $65 million, that's a $10 million jump over the current high, the previous jump was like $2-3 million.

We hear the $60 million figure for Dak constantly, but he only has to get $56 million to be the new highest paid player in the league.
You’re looking at it from annual value whereas teams/players are looking at what percentage of the cap they can get.

When you look at the newer Qb signings through this view it makes a lot more sense. Jordan love is technically the highest paid qb right now at $55m but is 10th in the league in percentage of the cap in the year they signed. Right now burrow is #1 at 25.5%. You match that percentage in todays cap and that is where the $60m for Dak comes from and the $65m next year would come from.

The path of uncertainty is better than a path of certainty NO chance at a Superbowl. The reported money that Dak, Lamp, and Parsons want will take half of the salary cap. You can't build a Superbowl team with 3 players using half of the cap. This team has ran it's course.
Right. But it’s not clear if winning a SB is the top priority.

doesnt EVERY TEAM need a playoff caliber QB? name me one team in the league today worth a damn with a 15 or below QB? Your schtick is so old. Yea, they likely keep him. Yea, he likely gets paid the most. Yea.... it is what it is because Dak is a greedy SOB. How do you know Jerry didnt offer Dak 55 million 5 months ago?
We don’t know either way. Why should he take 55 if he can bleed Jethro for more. Lol

It’s not his job to manage the Cap or build a better team around him. That’s on Jethro & Son which they’re trying to do. Good luck:)

Doesn't he earn like $50 million a year on endorsements because he is the Cowboys QB? Will he earn that at the next stop?
No, he doesn’t earn anywhere close to $50m a year in endorsements. He’s made about that over his entire career. The endorsements argument is very overplayed. It’s peanuts compared to his salary with the cowboys.

The only person who makes a massive amount in Endorsement money right now is Mahomes.

OK, but I would think he'd make more as the Cowboys QB than being in any other city... I get it.

He probably does but not by a significant amount.

Idk exactly what he made last year but a couple years ago he was right between Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers in endorsement money. Denver and Green Bay are both towards the bottom of the league in market size.

Fair enough. If he leaves Dallas, I think it is safe to say that endorsement stuff will be a little harder unless he balls out beyond our understanding. Anyone that denies that there are perks to being the Cowboys QB are delusional, hopefully you would agree...

Not even close. Maybe $10M.

I am sure those contracts with a smart agent like France are not 1 year deals and don't expire at the same time his contract does with Dallas.

I would absolutely agree, I just don’t think it’s nearly what it once was. Endorsement wise he may go from $10ish milllion per year to $8m. Not a huge difference when we are talking about a $60 something million salary. If he went to a huge market like New York he may even surpass his current endorsement money.

Yeah, things can change but I bet France said no less than $60 mil/per because he believes that he will get it on the open market. Todd France is a hard-baller. I think the Cowboys are taking the right approach. Let someone else worry about it.
Stiletto I hope you're right that the Cowboys will say "Let someone else worry about it."
But alas, I think Jerry is too comfortable in his old age with Dak's 10 -12 reg season wins to throw caution to the wind in pursuit of a Super Bowl by dumping Dak in search for a new affordable QB.

When the time comes I wouldn’t bet against Dak becoming the richest Cowboy player ever.

That probably isn’t a path to the Super Bowl, but it avoids the path to complete uncertainty.

And for all of his professional tolerance for ambiguity , Jethro isn’t starting from scratch at QB anytime soon.

Our dysfunctional ownerships insistence on remaining “ relative and interesting “ hedges on a playoff caliber Franchise QB regardless the implications thereof .
You're right, sad to say.

They are good. You can put away your tissue. So sad.
People like you are why the Cowboys are still relevant. Good job! Keeps the board going at least. Do you get any of the ad revenue on this platform from @Reality? He should pay you for being the biggest troll here..
