Better To Bite The Bullet Than Extend Dak

With quarterback salaries expected to reach $60 million, the Cowboys are in no real rush to extend Dak.
He's never won anything, and hasn't proven that he can show up in big games. Instead, he has struggled every time the Cowboys needed him to be the reason they were able to get to the next level.
With a $59 million cap hit coming, the Cowboys will be better off to ride it out and demand that Dak earn his next extension.
He hasn't yet.

Yeah, having no QB in a QB's league is way better than paying for one of the better QBs in the league!!!

10-5 record and 3rd in Total QBR.

I'd WAY rather tank away a season so we can draft the next Bryce Young or Zach Wilson!!!

Can't even imagine being such a low IQ, know-nothing fan. What's it like?

Remember when you were done with Dak and ready to move on from him earlier in the season?

I would love for Jerry to give these Dak haters exactly what they want and not resign Dak. I guarantee you after 2-3 years of Trey Lance or whichever other QB, they will be wishing we had Dak back.

Good thing Jerry and Company are not as ignorant. Just hope Dak is willing to give the Cowboys a little discount on his next upcoming extension.

I couldn’t imagine how different not winning the Super Bowl with Trey Lance would be as opposed to not winning the Super Bowl with Dak.

We don’t realize how good we’ve got it.

Nobody is saying don't re-sign Dak; just don't extend him.
Make him earn his next contract.
It's amazing how nervous Dak fans get at the prospect of him having to earn it.

Why because we'll miss out on that WC round victory every two years?

Eventually they'll have to replace him anyway due to old age. Not soon but in 7-8 years max. What will do then stop rooting for the Cowboys?

Just a flashback to the first time you took this stance:

He'll be washed by the end of the decade anyway, and we still will have 5 Super Bowls most likely. But you can look back fondly and say "We were 10-5 in 2023 and Dak was 3rd in total QBR"

p.s. while having a .387 Strength of victory, worst for any team above .500 except Miami who just beat us. Your standards are very low.

I was warned several times that I would dearly miss Tony Romo and want him back.

It has been several years now, and I still don't miss nor want Romo back.

Dak will end up in the same place at this rate.

I wish they could just sign him for a decent salary but Dak tries to drain every dollar he can.

Hes playing phenomenal ball this year and it’s still not enough and paying him all the money in the world doesn’t help the TEAMS cause.

You have got to get him to not get every last dime he can or it’s just going to be more of this.

We need a new left tackle too. Maybe a right one as well.

I’m not getting rid of Tyron either. I’d love to keep him if he wants to play but the cowboys Tackles are trash.

Steele is a shell and the Left side is pro bowl level one week and turnstile the next.

Don’t even get me started on run blocking.

I don't need to know who I just know the Cowboys have proven they can't go on the road and win 3 in a row. They are not the Giants that did it or Packers or Bucs with Brady before he was washed. Most likely Ravens or 49ers but it would be a near miracle for it to be the Cowboys. You know that, and I know that. That doesn't mean i like it but there's being optimistic and there's what's called being stupid.
So you don't "know" much of anything.

Thanks for confirming.

LMAAOO "they are not the Giants" yeah that Wild Card team that got swept by the Cowboys had "SUPER BOWL CHAMPS" written all over them!!!
