Better To Bite The Bullet Than Extend Dak

We are likely the number 2 seed. Dak is likely to lead the league in TD passes and his INTs are miniscule. I have NEVER been a pom pom Dak guy, but if you think there is ANY chance at all that we do not do a 4 year 200+ million extension, you are absolutely in denial. Dak's agent is actually now likely to push for a 5 year deal now that he is at a certain age. Ive honestly never seen an agent do a better job at manipulating a player's performance and his age to maximize his money..... if you have, name me one. Im not talking about a rookie like JaMarcus Russel.

I feel like many of you never had to cheer for Clint Stoerner.

No idea how lucky we are to have a starting QB like this.

The simple question is, is Dak worth the 50 mil it’s going to take to sign him. The answer is hell no because he is never going to take this team to a Super Bowl, not going to happen.

That means you further degrade the team around him and the whole thing collapses in the next couple of years and you’re stuck with a bunch of dead money.

Trade Parsons, invest in a Blue Chip QB and build the trenches, do it right not the way they have done it the last 25 years.

Haven't you heard he's taking us to our 1st NFCCG in 28 years?
Those hillbillies will give him a record-setting contract this you can depend on as the sun will rise.
Just look forward to beating some dog teams and 28 years becoming 35 years of no glory.

Trust me if you're happy that's all that matters esp for JJ.
You are the epitome of what has happened to our fan base after 28 years of the Jerry circus.
Just tell Dakko he better not come home from SF with another we got to get better speeches of his...................

I wish they could just sign him for a decent salary but Dak tries to drain every dollar he can.

Hes playing phenomenal ball this year and it’s still not enough and paying him all the money in the world doesn’t help the TEAMS cause.

You have got to get him to not get every last dime he can or it’s just going to be more of this.

We need a new left tackle too. Maybe a right one as well.

I’m not getting rid of Tyron either. I’d love to keep him if he wants to play but the cowboys Tackles are trash.

Steele is a shell and the Left side is pro bowl level one week and turnstile the next.

Don’t even get me started on run blocking.
I suspect Dak may have a career that runs short of his championship goals - but extremely lucrative. Maybe consider some version of ‘the Brady Model (insert Giselle reference here)’. Take less and allow yourself to be surrounded with enough talent to win a championship or two. Oh well, it’s not easy to fault a man for getting all the money he can out of the system he toils in. But life can be about more than just money.

Jerry is in his 80s, rapidly approaching senility or worse. He ain't starting over, if Dak keeps the team relevant and there is some chance that if everything falls right they'll be right there in the conversation for the Super Bowl. That probably won't happen unless the teams in front of them suffer massive injuries at key positions, but Jerry likes those chances better than trying to go from scratch.
I thought Jerry was having a ‘senior moment’ when attempting to introduce Coach Johnson at his ROH induction at halftime last game. Aaaaawkward. It was like a bad SNL ‘cold open.’

I love it when people say we should get rid of Dak. Who do they want to replace him with?
Many don't feel he can win a super bowl.

Replace him with a rookie and see if he can do it. If not him, draft another QB.

Or pay Dak and live in misery until he retires.

With quarterback salaries expected to reach $60 million, the Cowboys are in no real rush to extend Dak.
He's never won anything, and hasn't proven that he can show up in big games. Instead, he has struggled every time the Cowboys needed him to be the reason they were able to get to the next level.
With a $59 million cap hit coming, the Cowboys will be better off to ride it out and demand that Dak earn his next extension.
He hasn't yet.
I agree you should bite the bullet and accept the fact that Dak is our QB for the next 5 years.
