Then my statement still stands.... I bet more people can remember who lost the 2010 BCS game than who won the Orange Bowl. I know I sure as heck remember that BCS game but cannot for the life of my think about the Orange Bowl teams.

I bet far more people can identify the 4 playoff teams than they can name who is playing in any non-playoff Bowl game. They aren't showing commercial after commercial featuring Mississippi State versus Georgia Tech. But I have seen a non stop barrage of FSU/Oregon/Alabama/OSU "Who's In?" commercials.

Please stop posting insipid things. The playoff teams were already ranked high in recruiting yearly. So no the exposure hasn't been a boost.Last year Bama was 1, OSU 2, FSU 4. Oregon in the 20s.
It might have been a bigger boost for Baylor and TCU but they already received a big boost and are both recruiting better than they EVER have.
In sum no one in the Big 12 was hurt when all was said and done and now the teams who made it in have to play and compete.
Get blown out and those recruits will care.
VERY few people could tell you who won in 2010 much less who lost. Fans of those teams could but the shelf life is pretty short unless you win and celebrate it to keep it fresh in people's minds.
You think those commercials are going to run after the Semi-finals? Or will they be a mere celebration of the winners? What will run over and over is how the winner stomped the loser to get to the title game. Good luck with that helping.
