Stats don't always say that much. Especially with teams that have 100 plays like OU does. I think the changes OU's made on defense to a 3-3-5 defense was a really solid adjustment. Just look at what he did against a team that runs a similar system to Nebraska in Baylor. They did almost nothing on offense till it was 59-10 or something like that. Now unlike Baylor, Nebraska does have a defense so I expect this to be a competitive game.

I mean, if the 3-3-5 was that positive, why not run it all year considering we play in the wide opened offense conference we are in?

Nebraska runs a 4-2-5, and even runs with 1 LB on the field quite often, and has produced a top 10 defense. So it's not like teams will run over you with the change.

The best 3 defenses Nebraska will face this year (before their bowl) is Texas A&M, Texas, and Oklahoma.

In 8 quarters vs UT and A&M, the Nebraska offense scored 12 total points. 4 field goals.

That's 1.5 points per quarter.

I never said OU's coaching staff was that smart especially in recent years. They basically stole the defense they have ran the last few games from Bama. I think Bama has been known to run a pretty good defense the last few years.

They messed everything up when they split Oklahoma and Nebraska up and didn't make sure they played each other every year.

OU thrives against teams with No balance on offense and a defense that struggles.

At least Nebraska has a solid defense. If they can get big plays in the passing game they will win. If not OU will win this one.


Key for Nebraska is do what you do on defense and stay balanced on Offense.

I think they will be par w/ MINN and Indiana. I don't see NEB ever threatening OSU/WIS atm. We all know Michigan won't stay down forever. JoPa needs to retire and let Penn do it's thang.

They have had the run of the North for how long? How many championships has NEB had since the Big 12 began?

They have fallen wayyyyyy OFF. I just don't understand how you look at NEB as some major powerhouse program. This isn't the 1980's NEB we are discussing here.

Let's make it even easier to understand. Let's not even use the entire Big12 as a measuring stick. Let's just use the NORTH as the measuring stick.

The Big12 North has been a struggle for NEB for years. I just don't see them doing better going to this so called "weaker" conference.

NEB should have it's name all over the North but they don't.

Bottom line, Nebraska has just been asleep or in the toilet the past 10 years and I don't see major changes happening because they are moving over to the Big10. I see things staying as-is w/ them or maybe 1 more win. I don't see any championships in the near future for Neb or they would have been showing it all by now and wouldn't be tuckin tail and running off.

They got out bullied! Nebraska was use to strong arming everyone. When Texas was 'leaving' and going to the PAC 10, the remaining schools got together, and was going to give Texas, Texas A&M and OU the share of the buyout NE and CO was going to have to repay. After Texas agreed to stay in the Big 12, Texas told them they could keep their shares. When Texas proposed the Big 12 Championship game be played in Jerry's World, the votes were 11-1 in favor. Guess who the 1 vote was. That's right, NE! I hate to see NE go. Why shouldn't Texas get a bigger piece of the pie? They bring more to the table. The other schools knew that. Just ask Sheeplahoma. They were going where ever Texas was going. Why didn't they offer something for NE to stay?
