Most around here think the OL will be fine. Might take a couple of games to work out some of the kinks. As for Avery, he is from my home town and I saw him play in high school. To say he is legendary is an understatement. There is more buzz about him than there was for Barry Sanders when he left high school. The expectation from Wildcat fans is making the playoffs and hopefully winning a game or two.
I follow Wildcat folks heavily online. Great group! John Kurtz is a great youtube watch.
My high school teammate Darrell Harbert was a KSU OG.
I think the loss of Beebe specifically will sting. He is a generational guy. 1 of the 5 most dominant collegiate OL I have ever seen.
Avery was kept at the expense of a guy starting at Ohio State so yea that bar is the roof.
KSU will be very good indeed. I'm just not sure they'll be CFP good. A lot will depend on how Avery advances as a passer. And on that OL gelling.
I trust the run game a lot with Avery and DJ. Can they pass and defend the pass? Those will inform just how far they go this year.
I could see them being a year away from the CFP.
I don't love them having 6 road games and 10 Big 12 games.
But they do miss Utah.
That Arizona game early will likely stake a claim for the Big 12 CG.
