Remember Eddie George?

Beware of prominent veteran free agent runningbacks. They are on the market because they can no longer play at the level we remember them for.....or even close.

Why do you think Zeke is still unsigned?
Because he is old and slow and not very good. He is also probably demanding too much money and is going to want a large roll in the run game.

3 strikes.

The question is.................Why would anyone want to sign him?

Maybe not old but, wear and tear is a factor.

The team isn’t saying that it’s mostly fans and some in the media. You’ll never get the team to say he’s not an every down back, but the FO and coaches know he’s most effective when he’s splitting carries. Pollard scored 9 TDs last season, some from a distance,. Zeke had 12 TD’s mostly by pushing the pile and pounding them in. The Cowboys have had some struggles punching in them in the endzone from close.
Who cares that he cant handle 30 carries? Thats not the NFL anymore. Pollard could do in 10 carries what it took Zeke to do in 20 or more.

The guy has crazy talent. He is a high efficiency back. Perfect for the west coast offense and perfect in a RB by committee as one of the two featured backs.

Pollard had a total of 12 TD's last year and most were from outside the 10.

Zeke on the other hand had over half is TD's from the 1 yard line. And he got stuffed often down there. The other TD's were all mostly from inside the 5. Pollard and any number of backs can score from the 1. Heck, Jones the guy we just signed would have 12 TD's given all the GL carries that Zeke had.

Which Pollard still could not do. The team said he is not that type of RB. So therefore he sucks at scoring TD’s.
Is that why Pollard just got resigned and your hero Zeke got punted and is still out of a job?

Poor guy.................do you want some tissues? :muttley:

BWAAAAAAA!!!!!

On Tuesday night, Elliott had the opportunity to score some easy fantasy points when the Cowboys were at the 1-yard line in the fourth quarter. The Ravens defense ended up stopping Elliot on three consecutive plays before the Cowboys decided to throw it to Amari Cooper for a TD on fourth down.

It was reported a team person stated that on NFLN. May or may not be true. But it was what was said.

Why else would they take Pollard out in short yardage situations. Just as Detroit did with Sanders.
Because they can’t do it. Proof is on the field.
Pollard scored from a distance because Zeke could not do it anymore.

What I’m saying is the team knows he’s not an every down back, but they won’t say it. They take Pollard out because he’s not the inside power runner that Zeke is in short yardage. He’s been able to push the pile for 2 or 3 yards when there isn’t anything there. Barry Sanders used to dance around and bounce outside and lose yards which is why Detroit took him out near the goal line. Pollard has had some issues in short yardage. A few years ago in Philly in a huge game he took a loss on a third and one. Even at his best Zeke scored very few from a distance over his career. Pollard has become very popular with the fans from scoring from a distance.

What we need is GOOD running backs. Who cares about trying to get an exact size.

We just need good players.
If he's 5'9 190, or 6'2 230,....if he can rip off 100 yds a game than he can play for my team (assuming he doesn't need 30 carries to get that yardage)

This is a guy I would love to see the Cowboys draft in the 3rd or 4th round. Time for you to shift gears. Zeke is toast. You need a new RB to get behind. Cowboys are noted to really like this kid and for good reason. Can you imagine teaming this kid with Pollard in a great 1-2 punch?

Or this kid

Which one do you like better from what we can see here?

Yup, we need to pick up a bruiser for the back field. A big running back that can move the pile. I dont really see any big backs with any speed in the draft other than Robinson that only goes 220. our biggest back is Rico at 215. I think a one-year deal with Derrick Henry could work if he was reasonable and wanted a chance at a ring. Some will say he’s done, but he would do well with our line. Thoughts?
Chance at a ring? What team is that? Hahaha

Maybe they should go 1st round RB.

Especially if it means taking the ball out of Dak's hands as much as humanly possible.

Here you go. The Cowboys really like this kid and he is projected to go in the 3rd or 4th round. Tell me this kid would be incredible teamed with Pollard?

1400 yards and 17 TD's last year

I heard this guy is available. Probably wouldn't cost much, either.
