Jaylon was a good blitzer in 2018. Pressures per rush were really high. He was better at a lot of things back then.

Jaylon was deemed a top 5 guy who we took a risk on. It looked like the risk was paying off in 2018. But his play has collapsed since then. I think it's the leg, and I've heard NFL guys obliquely refer to his leg too. Something ain't right, and it has him doing very weird things on the field to compensate. He's not the same guy as 2018, and this far out from his injury, I don't expect that to change. We had a brief reasonable hope that the risky pick would pay off. It didn't. It's not going to. Some people just don't want to see it.

It is pretty obvious when he tackles. You can see that he does but take on the RB straight up but from the side or from behind. He knows his leg drive won’t let him do what a LB is supposed to do

we need to move on from him next year

as soon as they can find a LB to replace nearly 300 tackles over the last two seasons.

One of the worst caves in Jerry’s GM career . And some silly experts compared zeke’s contract situation to emmitt . Delusion continues .
We are left with a bum like zeke being paid the higher at RB salary for 3 years per carry and fumbles and drops and bad PR . Great work jerry

Sure. Okay, then maybe you should try watching the games instead of reading the
stats sheet this year.

hes been to a Pro Bowl.

ranks in the top 10 in NFL tackles. [3rd]

And leads the team in tackles the last two seasons.

And you dont like him?

Ok.

With a Twitter account and a group of friends, anyone can "make it" to the Pro Bowl.
Especially now that many players try to get out of it with injuries, surgeries,
SB appearances, etc.

Hell Dunc, I could get YOU into the Pro Bowl. Now being voted ALL-PRO would be
a much different story.

If you actually watched him play, you wouldn't be able to defend him without
exposing your lack of football knowledge. I'll give you the benefit of doubt and
think of you as a stat reader. Too busy to sit down and analyze the game.

Jaylon is a great guy with work class athleticism, but is just a so so football player. I don't think Jaylon had done anything to earn what this fans does to him. His celebration has become stupid though as he lowers the bar on when to do it since he doesn't make enough big plays.

"Muh clear eye view!" "Swoop!"

Jaylon is a combination of poor play, poor value, and relentless self-promotion. You can probably get away with 2/3 of those. But not all 3.

Was really hoping both would be released. Both are showing some very lacking effort and their fat contracts ensure they can't be pressured into giving more.

Pro Bowl is a popularity contest and tackles are the most meaningless stat there is. You plug anyone into that position and they will lead the team in tackles. He basically has that prize by default.

What a brilliant move by our HOF GM/owner. You would have to get up pretty early in the morning to hoodwink this guy. Well, at least before 12noon.
If Zeke and Jaylon were playing up to their compensation there would be no Jerry rancor. But VP Stephen is very much in this mix. He structures the contracts, he manages the cap. Affable Jerry just signs off.

Zeke is one of our best players.
