Some Cowboys fans can never see the big picture. Reality always seems to escape them.

We won the division tonight, and we're at least the 3rd seed going forward. Winning against Washington will have no impact on getting a 1st round bye.

We're going to play the loser of the Green Bay Detroit game unless Seattle wins tonight AND loses AT HOME against St. Louis.

Technically we could become the 1st seed if Green Bay and Detroit tie (and Arizona loses out).

We have an opportunity to rest our starters next week against a team that could potentially injure our players, especially Romo. It'll be very important for Romo and Murray to get as much rest going forward as possible, but the reality is you can give all the starters another bye week, which will be crucial going forward.

The Coaches can also begin to study TWO teams Detroit AND Green Bay. Why both you ask? Well as I said before, we're going to play the loser of that game, the winner of our game will play the #2 seed who will be the winner of that game. So having the coaches prepare for both teams during what will become a bye week, will be extremely beneficial to us going forward.

It will also allow us to get our 2nd team and 3rd team players some experience before going into the playoffs. We'll likely need them to be at their best. And this gives them a chance to see the game at full speed.

The Green Bay Detroit game will be a tough game, and the loser is going to have a hard time going forward against a freshly rested team, being able to beat them a lot easier, will also give us the ability to maybe come out ahead early, and again rest our players against a team that actually has a bye of their own.

Ideally we would like to draw Green Bay at home, and then go to Detroit, and likely we would have to go to Seattle in the NFC Championship game. If we can beat Green Bay at home, I think we would have a solid chance at making the super bowl. That process is now the most important thing. Not trying to beat Washington for no reason.

Too many permutations and possibilities left. Lets see who wins tonight game first?

So if I understand you correctly the outcome of next week's game has no bearing on playoff seeding for us. So if Arizona loses tonight and St. Louis wins next week against Seattle we can tank the game at Washington and still get a bye?

That is correct.

I don't think we want to go into the playoffs after losing to the Commanders again.

Again, stop thinking like this. You should be thinking about going into the playoffs with all our players healthy and well rested, which gives us the best chance to win.

I don't want to risk a key injury in a meaningless game.

Meaningless seeding and record wise? Yes. Meaningless in terms of momentumn? Maybe not--but if we can't beat the Commanders with Weeden at QB maybe we don't deserve to win a playoff game (or some such twisted Cowboys Zone logic)?

Rest them. If a guy complains of a head ache, rest him. Nothing wrong with having a bye week. The team won't get soft. Do other teams get soft coming off a bye mid-season? Heck no. That's just silliness.

If we're healthy, we can beat any team. ANY team. So keep 'em healthy.

No this is incorrect. Sea loses to STL next week and we win and we get the bye

Doesn't matter. Are you going to be satisfied if we beat Washington and then lose our first playoff game. It just doesn't matter.
