Both players are seen by most Cowboys fans as very talented pass rushers that could help the team. However, both players have missed significant time on the field for different reasons of course. Some may label both of these players bust at this point. With that said my question to Cowboys fans is which do you consider the more disappointing player at this point and why?

My opinion is Gregory. Why? He was a higher draft pick than Tapper that would have easily been a first round pick if not for substance addiction. Gregory showed a lot on tape (college) that made you believe that he could have became a dominant pass rusher. Tapper on the other hand was a work out combine warrior that had only a few instances in college that he could be a good pass rusher on any level.

Tapper lost a ton of time due to a condition he has had since birth. It's hard to blame him or call him injury prone for that.

Gregory on the other hand was in complete control of his behavior that has led to his suspension.

This is an easy call. And it's got nothing to do with draft position.

Is this really a question?

The expectations for Tapper coming out of college were minimal.

Gregory was viewed as a rare talent.

Gregory was considered the best pure pass rusher since Von Miller came out... with Bosa mixed in there somewhere. Better than this year's Chubb, or last year's Myles Garrett, and better as a pure pass rusher than Khalil Mack.

Then he toked at the combine and the rest is history.

I don’t know if the question asked in this post is rhetorical or redundant.

Neither is disappointing this life n football...esch happens.

Gregory

Higher Draft Pick
More Talented

Hasnt been able to stay on the field because of drugs. Its not even comparable imo
Yeah, this.

Tapper was nothing but a mid round dart throw at a guy who might do better in a different scheme.

Tapper has never shown that he's capable of being productive, we drafted him because he has desirable traits and rationalized it by saying he wasn't being used correctly in college. He never should have been drafted in the first place, so with no expectations he can't disappoint and by being injured nothing can be expected of him.

Gregory was and even now still is the correct pick. It's disappointing that he hasn't been available much in his career but he was worth the risk as he has the upside of being a top 3 pass rusher in this league.

Armstrong will make Tapper expendable even if neither make the team.

I agree w/ you in principle, but disagree that he shouldn't have been drafted. Tapper is the type you take a shot at in the 4th. Good pick that didn't work out.
