The hiring of CP and the defensive draft are phenomenal moves that show a difference in the way things are being done. Confident that this is a playoff team.

The biggest concern is (and it’s ugly head pooped up last season in games with playoff fronts) the offensive tackle positions. Both. I have little confidence in Steele and Guyton especially in potential playoff scenarios against the Seahawks Lions or Rams..

Will they move Tyler Smith to LT again? Guyton to RT?
Drew Shelton?

You can’t get everything in one offseason.

For me it is OT and CB, though I am hopeful that some of the additions to CB will help there.

I'm still very concerned about OT .. I really wish they would commit to putting Tyler Smith there.

I don't know if he doesn't want to do it or if what he said last year is true. That he doesn't want to train during the off-season and pre-season to play guard only to be switched to tackle or if it's a money thing with him in that he would want more money to play that position.

Either way, I think it's much easier to find a solid (doesn't even have to be great) guard than it is a left tackle and Tyler can definitely handle LT.

Could be he is gun shy about tackle because he gets a lot of holding calls out there where he can be seen more easily.

OT and LB for me.

Over the last two years the Cowboys have had among the worst starting tackle combo in Steele/Guyton.

For LB I think they have a punchers chance at it working out, but none of the options are great at the position.

in no particular order
LT - I never bought into the guyton hype and so far he is disappointed
RT - Steele sucks. sucked two years ago. sucked last year. is going to suck this year. can't pass protect. can't move laterally.
LB - we got winters. Overshown coming back after underwhelming last year.
CB - lot of bodies. lot of question marks. remains to be seen.
back up RB - who is going to step up.
DE - lots of bodies. some good players. remains to be seen.

Connor Riley has to improve the OL to playing more on a consistent basis. Some of those penalties and pressure were drive killers last season, and went it rain, it poured on the field against good opponents. I am really looking at him to see if he's the right person for the job this year. He's not at Kansas State anymore, this is the big boy league.

I have no concern going into game one because we're 4 1/2 months from game one so if anyone's concerned they might want to save their energy until they see what the roster actually looks like right before game one not 4 1/2 months prior I mean there is no concerns because they have not set the depth chart we have not finished team building..

Its not all about money to Tyler I think
He KNOW he can be all pro at Guard

he knows he has a shot at the HOF at guard

but not at LT.

Wow- thanks for sharing

i do agree that OT is my worry

you can get by with one bad OT; but not two, not when it matters

It wasn't meant to be mean or sarcastic it's true do you realize that training camp doesn't even officially start till about July 25th That's three months away we're not even close to camp let alone the season and people are acting like this is what the roster is gonna look like No this is what they are doing to prepare the roster.. I do believe some changes are gonna come subtle or otherwise they will add some depth to the positions people are worried about...

So again I'm not concerned until we're preparing for cut downs and getting ready for the season and when I see what's really happening whether there's new injuries or concerns somebody's out for the season we don't know anything right now because those things do happen we've seen Sean Lee and Overshown and others have major injuries non contact during camp so we literally don't have anything to worry about until it gets close to game one..

If that's what he believes then I can respect that.

I think in a moment's notice, you do what the team needs, but I think it's fair for a player to push to play their normal position over the season.

Of course if we had a solid LT it would definitely make that less of an issue. :D

Listening to tyler talk on a few occasions, that is the read I have on him
he knows he is getting the money
but he wants more than money

Same as always

We have an elite QB. Wait, what did i say?

Not elite. He was elite last year. He will be even better this year. Whats that? Superelite? Superman? God?

You heard him, dont shot the messenger.

But anyways... Elite QBs dont need great OL play to flourish. In fact they are able to produce against elite defenses and let their medicore OL look elite. Thats why you lable them elite.

So i for myself i do not see a problem here. Walk on people.

The defense is still bad until we see otherwise. The media acts like Parker is Prime Buddy Ryan and the Cowboys brought back the Doomsday defense with this draft and free agency. I have concerns for the linebackers and cornerbacks because of injuries. I think Quinnen/Clark are overrated. Love the Downs/Thompson combo at safety. Winters is a solid pro but the Cowboys literally had no offensive tackles last year and they seemed fine on offense.
