Biggest Concern Going into 2026

The defense is still bad until we see otherwise. The media acts like Parker is Prime Buddy Ryan and the Cowboys brought back the Doomsday defense with this draft and free agency. I have concerns for the linebackers and cornerbacks because of injuries. I think Quinnen/Clark are overrated. Love the Downs/Thompson combo at safety. Winters is a solid pro but the Cowboys literally had no offensive tackles last year and they seemed fine on offense.
Defensively that’s fair.

Offensively see games against the Broncos, Houston, lions, Vikings and chargers. Which did Dallas’ offense win against?

None.

With all that's transpired so far my biggest concern is embarrassing the rest of the NFL by our margin of victories.

I just hope the guys can remain humble and grounded with all future success.

Gonna be up to Shoddy to keep the fellas in check

I have no concern going into game one because we're 4 1/2 months from game one so if anyone's concerned they might want to save their energy until they see what the roster actually looks like right before game one not 4 1/2 months prior I mean there is no concerns because they have not set the depth chart we have not finished team building..
Sunshine and rainbows

It wasn't meant to be mean or sarcastic it's true do you realize that training camp doesn't even officially start till about July 25th That's three months away we're not even close to camp let alone the season and people are acting like this is what the roster is gonna look like No this is what they are doing to prepare the roster.. I do believe some changes are gonna come subtle or otherwise they will add some depth to the positions people are worried about...

So again I'm not concerned until we're preparing for cut downs and getting ready for the season and when I see what's really happening whether there's new injuries or concerns somebody's out for the season we don't know anything right now because those things do happen we've seen Sean Lee and Overshown and others have major injuries non contact during camp so we literally don't have anything to worry about until it gets close to game one..
No says ok the games don’t start yet so what’s the point of evaluating the roster.

We have an elite QB. Wait, what did i say?

Not elite. He was elite last year. He will be even better this year. Whats that? Superelite? Superman? God?

You heard him, dont shot the messenger.

But anyways... Elite QBs dont need great OL play to flourish. In fact they are able to produce against elite defenses and let their medicore OL look elite. Thats why you lable them elite.

So i for myself i do not see a problem here. Walk on people.
See the Dallas Elite QB against the Broncos, Houston, Detroit, Chargers and Vikings. Then say OTs are fine and there is not a problem.

For me it is OT and CB, though I am hopeful that some of the additions to CB will help there.

I'm still very concerned about OT .. I really wish they would commit to putting Tyler Smith there.

I don't know if he doesn't want to do it or if what he said last year is true. That he doesn't want to train during the off-season and pre-season to play guard only to be switched to tackle or if it's a money thing with him in that he would want more money to play that position.

Either way, I think it's much easier to find a solid (doesn't even have to be great) guard than it is a left tackle and Tyler can definitely handle LT.
At least you some free agents and drafted there with Durant Bland- healthier, Revel and Devin Moore there the prospect of better play.

Dallas’ pass protection ranked 27th mainly due to Steele and Guyton with woeful back OT play.

Offensive Tackle

The hiring of CP and the defensive draft are phenomenal moves that show a difference in the way things are being done. Confident that this is a playoff team.

The biggest concern is (and it’s ugly head pooped up last season in games with playoff fronts) the offensive tackle positions. Both. I have little confidence in Steele and Guyton especially in potential playoff scenarios against the Seahawks Lions or Rams..

Will they move Tyler Smith to LT again? Guyton to RT?
Drew Shelton?

You can’t get everything in one offseason.
Better tackle production would go a long way in solving the red zone inconsistencies.

If ranking 27th in pass protection seems fine, I don’t know what to say to you.

Dallas did not win against Teams with great DE sack rates: Broncos, Houston, Vikings, Lions and Chargers

Pass protection issues come because your defense can’t even be a speed bump for the opponent’s offense. We got lit up by every quarterback we faced last season. Opponents knew we had to pass.

Would love nothing more than to embarrass the rest of the NFL with all our victories. But, let's not get crazy!!

Nothing, Jerry did a good amount. you are not cleaning up 30 years of loser culture or bad team in one season. The rest is up to the coaches now. Lets see what they do. Im looking for progress, not miracles.

I know this isn’t popular, but I think we’ll be fine if Guyton can stay healthy.

My concern is how long, if we have success, will it take him to stop listening to whoever he is listening too and want to show who is in charge again.
As long as it’s not exposed and he can take the credit, we’ll be okay

Perhaps thinking DAL will turn around the 7 wins with rookies.......
It's the cowboys way of thinking, yeah let's put all that pressure on them we can prove it to the world we did it without having to go too hard in free agency!!

This is my biggest concern as well. The play at both offensive tackle positions was not good enough.

Prescott was truly a magician managing the offense given the pressure he was often placed under.

As bad as the tackles looked, if not for Dak, they would have looked far worse. And the quarterback could have been seriously injured.

To realize the offense’s full potential, both spots need to be much better. And I think both Guyton and Steele know that they’re in a make-or-break year. Play better or you’ll be replaced.

And who gave you the job title of roster evaluation I think that's what you're missing here is you're a fan they're not watching your evaluations they have their own ways on professional football teams full of professional coaches scouts people who are actually filming and breaking down film on these guys..

So what I'm saying is you're way too rarely making these evaluations because they have not completed the roster therefore it doesn't make sense to me Until they complete the roster and you see the one that's actually gonna play on the field in the regular season there's no reason to evaluate a team who has 90 players on it that's gonna be cut down to 53 and then a practice squad and it's not even complete yet So you're making these evaluations on players that may not even ever be here...

Or you haven't seen them play in the NFL yet rookies and stuff II just think it's too early to evaluate a team that's not complete Again the roster when they do the cut downs and then they show you the roster which by the way includes player numbers I think that's ridiculous to talk about right now The ones that are probably gonna change their numbers again before the season after the cut down all this stuff is a little early to be debating because we're debating without all the information..

Sure it's your choice if you want to waste your time but I don't be wasting my time because I know this is not what it's gonna look like for game one so when we see that team after the last preseason game to cut downs the changes the late additions that's when we can start really getting into how we think this roster looks and then showing our concerns there's no reason to be concerned right now and Dallas doesn't need help evaluating their camp rosters..LOL

I don't think there's anybody here that was given that job.. Yes now I'm being sarcastic..
