well, I would normally say "Getting as new Head Coach", but I was on the JG bandwagon in the summer

I would say, not finding a way to improve the running game and assuming our OL could block for anyone (I am not 100% saying Murray was the answer, but either Murray or Peterson or taking a stab at a RB in the draft)

Easily back up QB

This and its not even close.

Look at what's happening in Indy. That's a pretty mediocre team: decent defense, bad offensive line, solid receiving corps, and a stud young QB.

That stud young QB goes down for a few games and their capable backup QB is now 4-0 and they remain atop the division. We couldn't even win ONE GAME with a backup QB. That is a damning indictment of our FO and HC.

The funny thing about that dynamic is that their backup has been better than their starter. If I was an Indy fan I would be hoping for season ending diagnosis for Luck.

The biggest mistake was banking on the talent of the OL to make an average group of RBs productive. This put Romo back in a position of having to carry the team and it contributed to his injury and re injury. Instead of depending on the running game like we did last season we had to depend on the QB position. This resulted in losing Romo who was having to do too much and it's been keeping the defense on the field too long.

Not counting a "what if" scenarios for key injuries and be prepared for it...

Get a competent backup QB, and we win at least six games (New Orleans, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Seattle, Tampa Bay, Atlanta). We're sitting at 8-1 with the Dolphins up next and then Carolina. I don't know if we rush Romo back if we're 8-1. If we beat the Dolphins, we're 9-1 going into the Carolina game. Maybe we let Romo rest until after Thanksgiving? Even so, I don't fee he is in a position to have to press to make plays or carry the team on his shoulders.
