Jerry not listening to the Internet GMs on here.....oh, wait, that was probably the best move.

Not trying hard enough to negotiate earlier with both Dez and Murray to get simultaneous deals to keep both.
But in fairness, the players need to cooperate also.

So most obvious in hindsight, Not drafting a RB in 3rd round, over another OL.

Easily back up QB

Yes. Big one.

But the thing is... Weeden and Cassel came close to winning a bunch of times I think the super freak tales that AP is... Would have swung a game or two or three our way.

Again, backup was a mistake. I agree.

I agree with AZ......letting Callahan go....

He has this OL looking ready for the HOF.....Romo almost never got touched. Murray could pick the hole he wanted to run through.

Now, this year, the holes are smaller and less common to run through. Our pass protection has fallen off.

I am going with not making a deal happen for Adrian Peterson.

You?

AP was never available to get.

I would go with not retaining Callahan.
This offensive line has severely regressed and that is why Romo is not suiting up next week.

Callahan wasn't returning under any circumstance this off-season. When he was pushed aside for Linehan it was a done deal. He did his job while he was here but there was no way in hell he was going to renew his contract in Dallas.

I think there may have been a window. No matter what was ultimately reported. You and I will never know.

But... Doesn't matter.

Fielding a coaching staff that was unprepared for injuries or adversity. If everything and everyone on the team don't have a perfect game we don't win. Lack of creativity and adjustments during games.

I believe Romo doesn't get hurt if Callahan was here.

it's too easy to say backup QB because of what happened to romo, but no one here could have known that was going to happen.

so, i'll say mishandling the running back situation. now, i *do* think they made the right choice in not paying murray all that money -- and i *don't* think having murray would have saved the season. but, if you look at all the different parts of the team, i think it's fair to say that they *tried to get better* everywhere *except* the running back position. they spent draft picks on the secondary, the pass rush and the linebacking corps. they brought in the biggest pass rushing free agent available. they even grabbed a phenomenal offensive lineman when we just had a heralded year on the offensive line. but when they decided to cut ties with murray, they did not pursue any top tier free agent running back, and they did not draft a running back to groom, either. instead, they went after a bust of a former first round pick in DMC and relied on a part-timer in joseph randle. that was risky. so, mcfadden has performed better than expected while randle was shipped out. that may be a wash, but it doesn't mean that we got better at the position going forward. that is not just disappointing, it is poor planning.

Continuing to disregard the importance of the safety position. Church and Wilcox are both garbage and cannot cover anyone. It's because of these types of guys we can't play more aggressive on defense. Anytime they are one on one in man coverage it is a mismatch.

Forgetting to turn injury mode off. 6 games of Dez and 12 games of Romo sinks this team. You can say next man up, or what ever, but its hard to overcome the loss of QB 1 for the bulk of the season and WR 1 for a good stretch of it.
