Biggest player improvement in 2026?

Which is why we need to trade Pickens for more defensive help. Dak did fine in 2023 without him.

If you want to be specific, it would be a tie between safeties & CBs

Shavon Revel, just since we likely need him to, so we don't want to field a defense that gives washed Russel Wilson a career day again.
 
I think they all need to show major improvement, which would prove the scheme and coaching were bad. Most of us are giving these guys a pass because it was a rough year with injuries, playing with a bunch of practice squad players in a bad system with poor coaching.

It didn’t seem like anyone cared to get better—they were out of position, playing chaotically, and it all looked disorganized. Honestly, who on defense really played well last year? Who stood out and consistently did their job? And not counting the new guys added at the trade deadline, that’s different.

Looking at the defense as a whole, I just don’t think anyone played well enough to say they don’t need improvement. Anyone still here from last year needs to show significant progress.
 
I'll go with Ezeiruaku. He was a 2nd round pick who had a great final college season as a pass rusher. This team has nothing of substance on the edges.

If this player can become a double digit sack guy who impacts the game consistently, the defense will be much improved and so will the team.

A close second is Revel. But, give me difference makers closer to the LOS. So, I say Ezeiruaku.
 
IMO - the MOST important player that needs to improve is Tyler Guyton for several important reasons;
  • As a 1st round pick, he should be at the very least a competent, dependable starter. Going into year 3, we would have to say our 2024 1st rd pick is on bust alert.
  • LT is the most important position in pass blocking. If Guyton can’t improve we will be forced to move Tyler Smith to LT, then leaving a big hole at LG.
  • Finally if Guyton doesn’t improve, it forces us to use draft or trade resources to make up for the failure of a first round pick to to contribute.
Although I focused on Guyton, we also need all the young drafted players from the ‘24 and ‘25 drafts to show improvement.

Guyton and Revel for sure and also Ezeiruku. I thought Ezeiruaku had a solid rookie campaign but this will be a big year to step forward with pass rushing needs. If he can be one of the guys that produces 8-10 sacks this season I think that would be a nice leap forward.

sucks that this injury is keeping him out of getting stronger

Guyton. If he wants to not get cut he needs to get way better. And really quick.

Overshown needs time. Cant judge him right now. He is coming back from major injuries.
