Biggs: Daniel Snyder responds to slam from Emmitt Smith

You would be blaming the wrong people. The banks gave the loans to those who they KNEW couldn't afford it.

They told people who desired the American Dream they could have it regardless of their financial situation and made the loans. Take a look at the head of the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and that is where you can lay the blame.
I'm sure this will get moved because of political content, but are you suggesting that people shouldn't be accountable for debts they agreed to pay? You're saying that people who signed those loans are gullible idiots, unable to take any responsibility for their own situations?

Those institutions, congress, and those who elected the congress (namely all of us) are to blame.

What is it about losers who have to use this term?

Personally, you should be banned for using the term. It's the same as an ethnic slur.
Agree.

It takes a lot of compassion to censor the fans of your team and threaten to take away their season tickets if they don't give up their signs or turn their shirts inside out.

No. I am saying there is equal blame to go around. The lending institution has a RESPONSIBILITY to make sound loans. When they are forced to give loans to those who are not credit worthy, then there has to be some fall out. Those taking out the loans bear responsibility but at the same time, creating an environment where this could happen the blame lays at the feet of those who control it.

As a result of the housing collapse, or as a result of their own idiocy? I'm sorry, but you need to live within your means. If you can't afford it, don't buy the damn tickets. Also, I got no sympathy for people whose homes got foreclosed. Once again, don't buy it if you can't afford it, period.
You can blame the banks all you want, but it's the people's fault for buying them in the first place when they probably couldn't even have afforded a bag of marbles.

So everyone that has ever had a home foreclosed upon had it done so because they bought something they couldn't afford.

Only an idiot would think that.

Not to split hairs, but that's not what your previous post said.

And while Emmett may not be the best spoken ex-football player around, he pretty much nailed the situation with Danny Boy.

Wow. I don't think I've seen a more stupid set of comments on the forums the whole time I've been here and that's including the stupid things some Eagles fans would say.

So you're assuming these people lost their homes simply because they bought homes they couldn't afford to pay for?

So I'm guessing you know, for sure, that all these people bought homes they couldn't afford and not that they possibly bought homes they could easily afford right before the company they were working for hit hard times and suddenly laid them off?

Way to show your lack of class, brains, integrity, or anything else that makes a person a decent person.

:hammer:

The physical midget Snyder received a punishing blow from the mental midget Emmitt Smith.

Emmitt, why could you not be as eloquent during your broadcasting career?
I say the networks should give you another try at thinking and speaking at the same time.

Well done, Emmitt!

Well, since this isn't a political forum, I wasn't going to get into the depths of the discussion, but my original point still stands. And then I expanded upon it.

If you would admit being a typical Commanders fan, it would really make my day.

So let's say that you have a job for a bunch of years. You get married, have a few kids and buy a home for your family that is well within your means.

Then, out of nowhere, you get laid off.

Now you use up every bit of savings you have while you struggle to make ends meet with one job, if your spouse has a job to begin with, assuming.

So, its food or mortgage. Heat or mortgage.

Obviously, you are either too young or too stupid to have experienced living in the real world with real life issues that can happen to anyone.

Dan Snyder isn't the only idiot in Commander colors.

Excellent post!!!

I feel like he did. The other post that I deleted is all the evidence anyone should need.

so much ignorance in this post i don't know where to start, a lot of people could easily afford their houses until the economy collapsed and they lost their jobs.

Snyder sure wasn't compassionate when he bought the Skids. He was firing everyone in sight, even lowly office staff. And he charged his fans admission to training camp. Compassion??? I don't think so.
And didn't he just last year fire some other lowly office type people to save even more money?
