Bill Barnwell offseason report cards on Dallas, N.Y. Giants, Philly, Washington

Had the Eagles addressed their secondary with Awuzie and Lewis, would you be saying they are potential Pro Bowlers?
Probably not. I think they fit better in our system and they won't be on the field as much with our offense which will give them more rest. There are other factors to being a pro bowler other then raw talent IMO. Skill (obviously), coaching schemes, teammates are huge, popularity, etc.

I still don't think they got it right at WR. And Blount might be okay as a grinder, but I don't think he does much to help their run game in total as he is not much of a threat as a receiver, which in the WCO is pretty important. Had the Eagles got one of the top backs in this draft, I would consider that part of their team much more scary.
Don't overlook Pumphrey, he's a shifty little guy who I fear may be a headache. I wasn't happy, to say the least, when they picked him up.

I felt like what Stephen Jones said after the draft. They did us a favor.

Switzer can do a lot more. And he is already a good special teamer.

Sure. Free has many good qualities also. Any player that stays 12 plus yrs with the same club can not be totally bad? In recent years he looked worse than he played mainly because his colleagues were considerably more talented. In fact, his teammates have implied he was a great teammate and leader of the squad and the glue that held it together, at times.
Neither of that resulted in better play from him, he's a great teammate but he became a horrible RT.

Both players are healthy now and will be ready for camp. They wouldn't if still injured.

Charles Tapper: I have a birth defect, it's called 'L5 pars defect.' ... Me not being in the best shape coming to the Cowboys was what happened to me. Coming from OU I was sitting about 275-280 [pounds]. So coming here I was about 280, 275 trying to play a five-technique. As we all know [Rod] Marinelli, he didn't like that. So he was running and running me. It's kinda more of a fatigue injury I would say than injury of any sorts. Right now I'm feeling better than I ever felt in my life condition-wise, core-wise, strength, flexibility and everything.

Right. 100% chance to be ready.

Go take a critical thinking course and get back to me.

Also, listen to so music from this decade

And no mention adding last year's draftees Jaylon Smith and Charles Tapper to this years team. Having them along with this years draft class. Smith should be ready to go for camp and Tapper will be a big help with his speed. Mickey said on Talkin Cowboys Tapper was in the running for a starting DE spot before he got injured. I give the Cowboys offseason an A-. The A+ would have been if we got something for Tony.

His C and your A, we should take the average of that and it would be about right.

Last year his play fell off significantly which is why he retired I imagine. But he wasn't the third worst tackle in the league. We only gave up 28 sacks last year.
Thats exactly what happened. People have always ripped Free and it never made sense to me...last season not included.

i think QBs bare some responsibility to avoid sacks by moving in or out of the pocket and throwing the ball timely in or out of bounds. You can't persuade many with one play scenarios.
Amen. Throwing the ball away...a new concept in Dallas!!

lol. Something you haven't done much in this thread and this decade.

Again, they will be ready for start of camp. Not injured.

We don't know that for certain. We hope they'll be ready. We feel confident they will be ready. But we don't know they'll be ready, not based on their injury.

All I know is they are ready for camp and running, working out. That is certain.

We've done poor at these offseason grades for the past several years since Stephen Jones became more prominent in FA targets about 4 years ago yet the team has been doing better.

It seems to me that they judge based on what generates the most hype. Sustainable methods by virtue of their repetitive nature are never going to engender excitement.

And what do those guys have to do with the moves made this offseason?

And what do those guys have to do with the moves made this offseason?

Moves by ADDING them to the 53, which they weren't on last season. I'm guessing by the time page #50 is up, another poster will repeat the same question.
