gronk is the equivalent of graham...WR with a TE label. thats not a TE
Except you won't see Graham beasting after the catch with safeties and CBs hanging on to his legs, arms, on his back etc.

Gronk is like a 6th grader out there playing against a pack of 2nd graders.

And once again I will say it: I have serious doubts about that claim. It is in his book. I read an exerpt of it when it was released this past offseason. Feel free to believe or not to believe it. I'm just the messenger.

Well, there you go. That tells you exactly what the Pats are going to do. Belichick does this a lot. He will lay it on thick for certain players and that usually means that the Pats are going to try and take it away from you.

Belichick 101.

Damn he is sneaky. Who but Belichick would look at a team that is struggling with injuries at critical positions and recognize stopping a HOF TE will be an important part of the game. And then deceiving us by implying he is going to make stopping him a big part of the game plan, when he actually intends to do just that ....! It is genius, just pure genius. It has to be illegal somehow.

Your right. That's a doughy body.

That's pre-injury Gronk.

Actually, he's built like a tank like mid-20s players tend to be. But at 33 like Witten......?

By the way, what's going on with that gut on Eddy Lacy? Holy cow.

It would be nice if Bill doubled Witten. We need someone who will draw a double to help give Weeden some open throwing lanes and the running game more room.

Oh my god, look it up on internet.com.

Can you point me in the direction of where he said he didn't drink? I've seen him bro down on the dance floor locked out of his mind.

He actually said he doesn't drive drunk, not that he never drank. So a little different.

Witten is obviously an all-time great, but anyone thinking Gronk couldn't go on to become THE greatest TE in history is fooling themselves.

He'll probably have a 100 yard game against us on Sunday. Probably 2-3 TDs as well.

I was thinking this while I read it too.

He runs like a big ol' fire hydrant with legs.

This list him at 238 which seems to be about 20 lbs too light IMHO

Most of his time missed was due to a forearm injury, which isn't anything career threatening at all. He's by far and away the fastest TE to hit 60 TDs. Witten doesn't even have 60, he's at 59. Not trying to bash Witten or anything, he's top 3 all-time but Gronk is just a step above really any other TE. Again, we'll see what happens once Brady retires.

No he is a step above pass catching TEs. Not all around TE

Yup, thought exactly the same thing. They always say one of Belichick's strengths is he will game plan to take away what you do best, and make others beat them. He's gonna double up on Jason all game.

Belichick nails it.

Same guy who said he has no time to discuss football with any Cowboy fan who doesn't think Romo is outstanding...the famous "Cowboy fan football knowledge filter". lol

awesomeness.

Billicheck said that ?

Gronk had 308 receptions in his first 5 years in the league (2010-2014), Witten had 348. Gronk had 4,379 yards while Witten had 3,983 yards. I won't even bring up TDs because it's not close. Those stats are with Gronk being injured for the better part of 2012 and 2013. Now, Gronk could continue to get inured, and that would definitely change things of course, but even if he stays relatively healthy he'll beat Witten and probably Gonzalez in most receiving stats. Witten is a top 3 all-time TE and going in the HOF. I'm just saying Gronk could be the GOAT by the time his career is done.

Now, if Witten had played with Brady at any point in his career things would probably be different

He may have more catches and TDs when it is said and done but that doesn't make him a better TE. He has to do all those things that Bilichick listed better which he doesn't. Compare him to a receiver if catches and tds is all it takes to be the GOAT at the tight end position.
