Belichick will have his choice of teams. But his young GF will probably have a lot of influence and tell him to take the Cowboys job because it could turn her into a star. I can see her getting her own TV show and at the minimum, a successful podcast.

I don’t see Belichick taking this job simply because we are trending down and Dak’s contract is an anchor.

We need a builder and Belichick is a terrible builder imo.
Exactly what I said. Also the funny thing is half the board would be upset if Belichick decided to move on from Dak and the other half would be upset if he kept him. It being Belichick wouldn't change people opinon on the Quarterback divide.

Well....Bill Bellicheat would certainly fix this team. He's already proven that he wasn't just riding on Tom Brady's coattails, right?

Right?

(It's not like Brady had success AFTER bellicheat, and it's not like Bellicheat didn't have success after Brady....or before Brady....(Without Bill Parcells)....right?)

I don’t want him. The game passes everyone by. It’s time for someone younger. We need someone who truly knows how to reestablish a running game. Everything goes well when you can run the football.
A younger coach is not going to be given the type of control Belichick will want. The type of control that Jerry has ceded only to Parcells since Jimmy left.

We would just have another head coach who can't succeed because of what the front office is doing. We need someone who will tell Jerry and Stephen what to do and who they respect enough to listen to.

I don't know if Belichick could replicate his success without lucking into another Brady, but I'd rather see that tried than keep revolving through these coaches who lack enough say-so about this team and continue blaming them for the Joneses' failures.

Yes he would, Jerry is a desperate man willing to do things he's never done before.
He doesnt seem too desperate. He just turned 82 and we are in the midst of a throwaway season after running it back and intentionally sitting on our hands in FA.

A couple of points to consider:
  • The roster really isn't in good shape, that's pretty apparent to everyone, including BB.
  • If Jerry hires BB and wins, who is going to get that credit? Is it Jerry or one of the best coaches in NFL history?
  • BB is likely to set some firm boundaries as did Bill P., is Jerry willing to walk on eggshells at 83 years old?
You're not wrong about the roster, but it could be fixed quickly. If we were willing to sign three or four free agents in positions of need the roster could be really good again. We just happen to ignore our weaknesses over and over.

Normally I wouldn't bother mentioning FA, but if Jerry was to put BB in the building he may have some influence in that. He doesn't strike me as the type to bite his tongue.

I'm fine with Belichick under two conditions:

1. He brings in his own salary cap guy and football research people.
2. Josh McDaniels and Matt Patricia (both out of the league mind you) never step foot in Frisco.

Where do you all get this bs view of the modern day Cowboys? The glitz and glamour is gone.

Yeah no I disagree with RJ Ochoa here concerning a head coaching interview. Normally, narcissists do not backtrack on people who they see have failed them in the past. They will steer away from outsider perception they want to redo a previous mistake.

I do think an offensive coordinator interview might be possible for Jason Garrett, although I do not think the odds are high for that possibility also. Ex-coordinators and assistant coaches tend to bounce around and get re-hired by former teams. Plus, Garrett already has Jones' submissive approval tag, which would work in his favor too.

I'm not sure fans remember but he was an excellent OC for Romo. His offense led the league in quite a few stats.........

No he was not. Calling a draw 9 times a game and throwing a lateral pass on 3rd downs. Washed up and figured out. He was terrible.

This isn't hard .........Garrett turned down at least 2 head coaching offers as the Cowboy's OC but he was terrible

With Garret calling plays, the Cowboys passing offense was never ranked lower than 9th in yards per game or 11th in yards per play, including two top five finishes in both categories. The rushing offense was top ten in yards per play four times

When Jason Garrett was the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, the team's offense was consistently elite. Here are some of the characteristics of the Cowboys offense under Garrett:

  • Flexible: The Cowboys offense adapted to the team's needs, sometimes running the ball more and sometimes throwing it more.

  • Slant: The Cowboys used the slant, a basic concept that often resulted in easy yardage.

  • Deep in-cut off: The Cowboys used a deep in-cut off of play action to open the middle of the field.

  • Run-centric: Garrett established a run-centric identity around Ezekiel Elliott.

  • Featured the tight end: The Cowboys emphasized featuring the tight end, specifically Jason Witten.

  • Pro Bowl players: The Cowboys had multiple Pro Bowlers on the offensive line, in the tight end position, and in the receiver position

I see you conveniently left out his offensive coordinator stats while in New York. And where were all of his offers after New York?

What a terrible move this would be. The only upside is he won't put up with Jerry meddling like all the other puppets, but a 75 year old coach on his last legs, I'm not really seeing him turning this around. As long as Jerry and Stephen are doing their thing, they can go get every hall of fame coach that's still alive and nothings changing.
There are many interesting comments that I have read and most of them make a lot of sense. I have felt for many years that the problem is not with the coach or players, but rather at the top. The ego's involved are a huge problem and will not just magically disappear, and until that happens, nothing will change. Coaches have come and gone, players have come and gone, yet the same old dilemma remains. You've got to ask yourself, why is that.

What are you talking about???????
My post was he was an excellent OC for Romo and the Cowboys. What does New York have to do with anything?
BTW.,.....you made a mistake ( maybe got him confused as head coach and OC ) it happens, no big deal. Let's move on
