Just on ESPN, Cowher will not interview for the Jets job because he wanted to bring his own guys in and the Jets said no.

So, Cowher is still out there. There are seven teams that are after his services.

UMMMM... Note to Jerry Jones... You should be one of them teams!

I'd love to have Cowher but Jerry isn't going to do it. First off he's already said he's making no changes and if he changed HC's now obviously Cowher wants to bring in his own guys so there is no way that's happening.

No shot at that.

Why not?

Who on this entire staff has done a good enough job to be untouchable?

You can ask why not till the proverbial cows come home, but this is Jerry Jones and he has already said continuity and so on as his reason for keeping wade and we all pretty much figure jerry views JG as his next head coach.

Jerry is Jerry.

Chances are he is not going to change his mind. But who knows, he has said things in the past and changed his mind so it is possible. Just doesn't look likely right now.

Someone made a point in one of the threads that Jerry wants to keep wade so he can focus more on getting the new stadium up and running. To me the best move not just for the team, but also for the business aspect of things, would be to bring Cowher in (or insert another respected coach's name) in.

I think it would reenergize not only the team/players but also the fan base and would be good for the business aspect.

A fresh start with a fresh coaching staff in a new stadium would be well received by most fans IMO.

But again...it is Jerry we are talking about.

What makes you believe Jones would allow him something the Jets didn't?

Cowher wants not just his coaching staff, but probably also front office people. He had a power struggle in Pittsburgh because of that. We all know Jones will not surrender any personnel decision-making to anyone. He also will push people like Garrett, Campo and others on any potential new coach.

I still believe he could end up in Cleveland or Kansas City when it is all said and done. I don't think he's even a twinkle in Jerry Jones' crazed eye right now.

I'm not saying they should be untouchable.

I'm simply pointing out that Jerry has made it perfectly clear that there is no chance of that really happening so there is no shot that Cowher is going to be in Dallas.

Unless Jerry totally changes his mind about his position there is zero chance of Cowher, or anyone else, being here as an HC and bringing in their own staff.

This is part of what I brought up in another thread.

Hiring Cowher would help wipe away the stench of this season and give optimism for the future.

Keeping the Marshmallow Man does the opposite.

Hiring Cowher would probably help to sell enough seats and merchandise to offset what would likely be a record-setting salary for an NFL head coach.

But it would be worth every penny.

The reason Cowher is not taking up the Jets job is that he wants to bring his own personnel director according to ESPN article, that means Jerry has to give up a lot of power tot that person. I don't believe this is ever going to happen with Jerry Jones (may be with stephen jones).

Can hardly believe Bill would turn down the chance to coach Bret "Drama Queen" Farve :laugh2:

BC on the Dallas Cowboys "they need to rid themselves of owens"

BC on turning the Jets down "I want to bring in my own people"

Two reasons he won't be here.

You guys might as well give up on Cowher.

I have a better chance of being the next coach than Cowher does.
