Just some perspective: Bill Cowher coached 15 seasons and only won one Super Bowl.

Hey, I think he's very good....but thought I'd add some actual facts to the equation.
---------------------------
Also, I'm disappointed in Wade, but it can be debated whether or not he did better or worse that Parcells. I think his winning % is better but Bill's first 2 years were building years.

He's needed more for his intensity than his record... again, him or Wade again... I'll take Cowher

I understand if you guys don't like a former steeler coach, but don't question his credentials, he won despite losing probowlers every year and we can win if we don't have a probowler at every position

It's not a matter of not liking him, it's simply pointing out the facts. What do you think our fan base would do if we brought Cowher here and he didn't win a Super Bowl for more than a decade? What would we do if he posted a three year record of 22-26? He'd be thrown out.

I really don't see anyone questioning his credentials...just placing facts out there for observation/contemplation.

That's before or after the 2010 season?
i'd wager - barring a miraculous superbowl run - he plays next year year with Jerry's Circus then is cut before 2010 begins.

The guy lost steps this year and was misused. Next year it's NUTS to expect him to get better given his age and our coaches.... nevermind hope he's not injured or nicked up.

He also was saddled with the worst QBs in the NFL and an owner letting every player leave for FA. you omitted "facts" to spin things your way.

The popcorn announcement of Owens being signed to the roster is still fresh in my memory. I believe that Owens will be in a Cowboys uniform until the very end of his existing contract. Jerry Jones loves him to death.

No spin whatsoever.... I even basically said I respect the guy okay. So cool down and take a deep breath.

As for your comments on how the owner let players go for FA, that is true. But are you saying Cowboy ownership is superior to Steeler ownership taking everything into account? Better think hard about that first...and that would be opinion, not fact one way or the other.

He's one of the reasons he was "saddled" with said QB's, especially Kordell.

So dont allow those facts to cloud things for you either.

He didn't run the Steeler's draft. He didn't let every player walk away. He didn't keep payroll to the bottom of the league.

Look up the GARBAGE QBs in Pitt, including the one responsible for us winning superbowl XXX

Give him a team tomorrow with serviceable QB and he'll do great.

ok, obviously you are one of those people that thinks Cowher walks on water, but whatever.

as for your statement about letting people go, Dallas actually lost more players the first several years of free agency/salary cap than anyone else, including Pittsburgh.

He insisted on keeping Kordell Stewart at QB, even when others publicly questioned it. He also was responsible for running fof an outstanding football GM in Tom Donahoe. Donahoe was the reason the Steelers did have as much talent as they had.

mark me down as one who's not interested in Cowher whatsoever. I doubt Jerry wants to be wiping the spit off his face either.

At least someone would be yelling, digging into the Cowboys players because NO ONE was doing that on this past year's team. Jerry is the boss so it comes down to if he wants to hire a coach, a REAL coach, that wants to WIN & has intensity, even if it means that he'd had to take a backseat & let the coaching staff to their thing, then we might actually have a shot next season to be a serious contender in the NFC.

It doesn't have to be Cowher but it better be someone other than Wade & his staff (including Jason Garrett) as head coach!!!

They quoted him on NFL Total Access tonight as saying he won't coach in 2009. He apparently said this when Cleveland contacted him to try and pursue him for their Coaching vacancy.

needs to be our head coach... he said he wouldn't mind coaching if the right situation came up. Waive TO, sign Boldin in the offseason & give Cowher an s-load of money to coach the Cowboys.

Just throwing this out there... Some reason I think this would help; I mean could it really be worse???
I don't care what anyone says, Jerry is not going into 09 and the new stadium with Wade.

After this crappy ending there are probably a dozen top rated coaches leaving messages on JJ's answering machine.

This will be the best off season ever.

We are getting a new coach and some new players with heart.... bank it.

But also I heard other reports (one by Chris Mortensen) that Bill Cowher himself never said that he won't coach in 2009, just not for the Browns... so no one knows which way this will really go in the end. The Jets are making a run at him and it would be nice if Jerry Jones was getting things in line to at least make a run at him as well... probably won't happen but I'm still hoping :)

BTW, I don't think that I mentioned that at the very least Wade should be demoted to defensive cordinator... I know, won't happen but I'm trying to think positive. Maybe that's what Jerry Jones meant when he said that the coaching staff will still be around... he never said that they couldn't be demoted. Damn, how much I was I could be right about this one :(

Wade does a great job as a defensive cordinator but as a haed coach he can't make a team, especially this one with all of the egos and big mouths, a serious contender for the Super Bowl. Had everything set up last season and blew it... Zach Thomas even said that this past week the COACHES implimented some new things an nothing worked. GREAT head coaching Wade; time for a reality check Jerry Jones... WAKE UP!!!
