I mean we can argue against their personnel decisions. I personally appreciated the effort. I still think Mazi was the right pick I never thought he was going to be a contributor this early. Like I said earlier I don’t think they brought in guys who suck against the run. I think ultimately Clark, Parsons, Bell and the safeties have to do better because this is who we have.
Agree that they put "some" effort into it but we've been getting manhandled up front for years and they have failed to understand that the core of the unit needs to be legit run stoppers.

I agree. But I just saw bad football yesterday. And I'm not entirely sure if it was because of talent. I still remember when we had LVE and Jaylon and the Rams just ran down our throat. But it was different than yesterday. These outside runs seem to be even worse then what we initially were doing.

In whatever games they have remaining, I'm guessing there are going to be a lot of opportunities to see how our talent stacks up.
MC, please don't mention Jaylon with any insinuation of talent. LVE isn't exactly a stud run defender either. :lmao2:

Aye I didn’t say they were talented though they were beasts that year no lie I remember thinking we are solidified there. Lasted a year tops.

Well we drafted Mazi, pick just didn’t pan out yet.
first round pick and "just didn't pan out yet" tells us all we need to know. Not Mazi's fault.....I'd look at the draft room.

Cowboys never did squat under Bill so could care less about his opinions.

When will this team learn from someone who set out the blueprint on how to build a Championship calibre team. On DEF, particularly come December you have to be able to stop the run. To do this you need a physicality amongst your DEF. Bigger and nastier is better. The smaller, faster alternative is broken , it doesn't last for a whole season.

First rule, you have to be able to stop the run and run the ball. If you can't do that the rest is irrelevant.

We need coaches and ownership to understand this basic philosophy. Bill Parcells taught us this and he was right.
Yes, you need the proper personnel, but many players believe stopping the run is all about effort. These Cowboy defenders shy away from physical contact and aren't willing to do what it takes inside the trenches. Also, Dan Quinn's scheme isn't doing them any favors.

How many championships did Bill win here?

Doesn’t matter if we stopped the run or not. We scored 10 points. That’s an unreasonable burden in today’s NFL. Yes, our defense has held offenses to under 10 multiple times but it shouldn’t be the bar our offense meets and expects to snag a win from.
