Bill, please read this, go to sleep, and wake with Romo on the mind.

Dear Tuna,

Romo is the man to keep down the road. If the season is to be salvaged it is Romo that will do it. Romo only stepped onto the biggest stage in the NFL and did what he could amidst a strong Giants front 7 and zero time taking snaps with the first team. Your 2nd string QB characteristically takes snaps with the 2nd team and might get lucky to take 20% of the snaps in practice. Go to sleep, cool off, and then wake to realize that you need to give Romo a week running with the first team. By doing so he will get his timing down and play with an even cooler head against the Panthers. Romo equates to hope. You have no hope with Bledsoe. Bledsoe did what he has always done (on cue). He crumbled under pressure. Bledsoe represents mediocrity. Bledsoe is a 14 year vet that has seen much better days. These are days he will most likely never see again. Romo represents potential. For the sake of the team and a large number of fans, please let Romo have the 1st team snaps this week so that he can achieve a just evaluation after the Carolina game this weekend. Thanks for the ear Bill. I trust you will do the right thing.

Warmest Regards,

Bleu

Romo = 10-6 and a shot at the playoffs.
Bledsoe = 8-8 and a shot at the living room couch watching the playoffs yet again.

I will gladly argue that point with anyone. I hate to see the boys lose but I am so thankful Bill has opened the door to possibilities and hope.

I think Romo is only marginally better than Bedsoe. There just seem to be too many problems all over the team. I would say 8-8 with either qb. I'm more more into the thought process that the coaching staff is at fault here. They don't seem to maximize the talent they have nor do they adjust to a team's weakness and/or minimize their own team's weaknesses.

If Romo can get rid of some of his gunslinger mentality, he will be a great QB, JMHO

With Bledsoe, we'll be 8-8.

With Romo, we'll probably be 6-10 or 7-9. But I can live with that. It just adds more experience.

i love the gunslinger mentality, but he needs to combine it with some more poise in the pocket

269 passing yards were logged in 2 quarters by Romo when they knew what he was coming in to do down by enough of a margin to dictate so. Most QBs with much more extensive experience at this level accumulate that yardage in 4 quarters.

Give this guy a week practicing with the 1st team to get his timing down and to get comfortable tossing it to Glenn and T.O. This will pay dividends. I hope Bill gets a good night's sleep.

Romo at least has a chance to get better. Drew is what he is. We could have already given Romo some game experiance last year, but no.... Hope they give him a chance to start next week.

And with the amorphous offensive coaching structure, we don't even know who is most responsible for what. I'd bet some on Chris Palmer, having watched him demolish the Browns and Texans, but you can't really tell. Sure do hope they manage to pull some sort of rabbit out of their hat though.

With Bledsoe, I think we'd be 9-7 to 11-5 this season. But we'd probably be the same next year, or we'd be breaking in Romo as a new starter and going 8-8 or so.

With Romo, I think we'll be fortunate to finish 9-7 this season. And 10-6 would be a miracle. But we'd be in a better position next season -- either taking an improved Romo into his second season as a starter or knowing that Romo can't do it and we need to find a new quarterback of the future.

I truly do think you are a great capoligist and I actually think you have a high IQ. But with all due respect, no way in hell Bledsoe would lead us to an 8 and 2 record the rest of the year. You and I both know this.

If Bledsoe had remained in the game, we might have won. We were down just 12-7 when he was yanked. IF we had won, we'd have been 4-2 and he certainly could have led us to a 7-3 mark the rest of the way. If we had lost with Bledsoe anyway, we still probably could go 6-4 or 7-3 the rest of the way to finish 9-7 or 10-6. That's why I said "9-7 to 11-5" -- I was including tonight's game as a full Bledsoe game and a potential win.

I honestly don't think we would've won tonight with Bledsoe, although I think the game may have possibly been closer. The rush didn't let up, and you know Bledsoe doesn't do well under those circumstances.

More importantly, if he did, we would go nowhere. I do not trust Bledsoe in any capacity against the top defenses in the NFC, NY, Philly, Carolina, Tampa, CHICAGO! He would do nothing. And we'd be left with MAYBE, but unlikely a playoff apperance. An early exit, and another LONG LONG LONG offseason of uncertainty at the QB position. No thanks, Ill take my chances with Romo

You are so right. Bledsoe can own those highschool defenses, but the 1st time a defense puts pressure on him, his hot read sucks, he holds the ball as if no ones rushing him, and his accuracy is not very good anymore, along with his decision making ability.

Physically, I think Bledsoe has it. Mentally, he's done..

I didn't say we would have, I said we could have. He certainly has overcome poor starts to win before.

First off, I have to say I have read your cap stats for the past 5 or so years on this board, and I think you are an amazing capologist. I don't even know how you keep up with the cap and all of the NFL 'legaleze."

That said, Bledsoe now looks frightingly similar to Kurt Warner now. I think he has been hit so many times, he now hears the footsteps. And with the pass rushers we have to see over the next 6 or so weeks, I think we only see 8-8 with Bledsoe. I think we continue this "win one, lose lone" slide. Then add to the fact that our defense can't contain the big play.

We may go 8-8 with Romo (even though I thnk he will get better as the season goes on). But at least we know what we have going into next season or if we need to pick up a big time QB along with Offensive linemen.

I respectfully disagree. Like any backup QB that normally takes garbage snaps in practice and plays with the second tier offense, you give Romo some valuable snaps in practice with the 1st team to get his timing down and it will pay dividends. The guy was out there making due without the benefit of having thrown to a TG to T.O. all week. Give him a week to get comfy and then unleash a dynamic 3 dimensional offense against Carolina. This should be an easy decision for BP. I hope he slept well.
