You've never heard Shamless on the radio?!?!?

The only Shamless song I've heard more on the radio than Billy Joel's Shamless is when Garth Brooks covered Billy's song. :laugh2:

I can't say I have ever heard it.

Not that radio play is any indicator of song quality, but I'll give you
Shameless, The Downeaster Alexa , While the Night is Still Young....

but are you serious that these 3 don't get radio play??

It must be a regional thing, because NY stations play them so much I can't stand to hear them ever again.

Elton John.

I like Billy Joel back in the day but over all I think Elton John a little more.

Both are extremely talented and entertaining artists.

Billy Joel. I grew up on him. I even had a couple of his 8-tracks. Elton John really turned me off with the wild costumes and shoes... kinda like Clinton Portis does now.

How about the $200,000 a month he spends on flowers. :laugh2:

When ask why he does that, he responded with. "I like flowers." :lmao2:

I like Billy Joel better but, as others have already said, both are good.

Hi Leon! How's Granbury treating you?
So far, so good. I like it here so far. I'm just hoping there is a football season so I can drive down to SA for training camp, and of course attend the games in Cowboys Stadium. How are all doing?

We're doing well......let me know if/when you're attending training camp. We went down last year, it was a lot of fun!

I think all of these have stood the test of time. Can you think of 19 Elton John songs that have? Here's what I've got so far:

Your Song
Tiny Dancer
Daniel
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting
Rocket Man
Candle in the Wind
Bennie and the Jets
Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me
Burn Down the Mission
Daniel
Crocodile Rock??
Honky Cat??
Don't Go Breaking My Heart??

I am with you Billy Joel is classic.
I Pick Joel for this. I am not an Elton John fan at all. I think he is talented but not my cup of tea. I dont listen to Joel often but if one of his songs comes on the radio I turn it up and think to myself this guy got it

There are a lot of tunes Elton John did. I would vote for Elton John. I think the quality of his writing is much better on the songs that are more then just top 40 stuff. JMO

Yeah, you could be right. Pinball Wizard was written and performed by the Who for the Tommy Album but Elton John Also performes it and I believe he charted with it. I guess it's a matter of opinion there.
