TEMPE, Ariz. (Jan. 1, 2007) -- The Arizona Cardinals fired coach Dennis Green on Monday after he failed to turn the downtrodden franchise into a winner in three seasons on the job.
Green was dismissed one day after the Cardinals concluded a 5-11 season with a 27-20 loss at San Diego. He finished with a 16-32 record at Arizona. The Cardinals will pay $2.5 million to buy out the final year of his contract.
He was the seventh coach the Cardinals have had since the franchise moved to Arizona in 1988.

I like Dennis Green, and he improves the quality everywhere he goes...what's Minny done since he left? He was very successful in that small market.

He has taken an awful franchise and built a very respectable offense that's only going to get better next season. I think they made a mistake in letting him go so fast...you're not going to take a franchise that's been a loser and laughing stock for decades and turn it around that fast.

That job will probably look a little more attractive to candidates due to what he's assembled on offense.

Very good point Wayne. Isn't his background on offense?

Rivera HC
Singletary DC

Rivera is a very fashionable and trendy choice who I think is more overrated because of the performance of the players on the Bear defense.

Singletary on the other hand is who I would hire.

He has passion and truly is a good coach who can motivate.

I wouldn't mind the guy we've already talked about, Nunally the DL coach for SD as the DC.

Thank God all Jerry gave this fraud was the courtesy phone call interview a few years ago. To paraphrase one of the local columnists "Losing 2 out of three games in this parity filled league doesnt cut it."

This despite the fact that Green requested a suitcase full of pesos.
