Dennis Green is going to become an assassin for the government and his calling card will be writing "you were who i thought you were" on the victims' foreheads

He will never live that line down... He put himself in rarefied Jim Mora/Allan Iverson air with that meltdown. Classic.

He can obtain royalties from the "they are who we thought they were" remix years from now.

My wife thinks something is wrong with me because I am sitting here cracking up over and over...

Rivera is a very fashionable and trendy choice who I think is more overrated because of the performance of the players on the Bear defense.

Singletary on the other hand is who I would hire.

He has passion and truly is a good coach who can motivate.
Passion doesn't mean the guy can be a HC. I'm not big on Singletary as a HC. He's only been an assistant LB coach. Granted Del Rio made the jump from Jax, but what have they really done since he's been there?

I don't know who I'd want as a HC to replace Parcells, but Singletary wouldn't be on my radar. Maybe Cam Cameron from SD. Good offensive mind who could bring along some of SD defensive assistants.

If Dennis Green were hired here I would sell all my memorabillia and become a full time pro wrestling and college football fan.

I like Dennis Green, and he improves the quality everywhere he goes...what's Minny done since he left? He was very successful in that small market.

He has taken an awful franchise and built a very respectable offense that's only going to get better next season. I think they made a mistake in letting him go so fast...you're not going to take a franchise that's been a loser and laughing stock for decades and turn it around that fast.

That job will probably look a little more attractive to candidates due to what he's assembled on offense.

San Fran has already passed them up, Green had to go.

TEMPE, Ariz. (Jan. 1, 2007) -- The Arizona Cardinals fired coach Dennis Green on Monday after he failed to turn the downtrodden franchise into a winner in three seasons on the job.
Green was dismissed one day after the Cardinals concluded a 5-11 season with a 27-20 loss at San Diego. He finished with a 16-32 record at Arizona. The Cardinals will pay $2.5 million to buy out the final year of his contract.
He was the seventh coach the Cardinals have had since the franchise moved to Arizona in 1988.

does this affect their cap?

Very good point Wayne. Isn't his background on offense?

I do believe so....

I don't think I want him in Dallas after his meltdown with the media, but I do respect him.

If we are going with a no-name, I would take Singletary over all of the others mentioned (Rivera, Cameron and so on). To me, I see the type of leader that Bill Cowher was and I am sure many scoffed at that hire as well.

If you hire Cam Cameron, you are basically making a Chan Gailey type chocie. And there are no assurances he would bring anyone from San Diego with him of any consequence. The ones I would actually want off that staff were there before Cameron and Schottenheimer. I honestly am not that impressed with his work any more than I was impressed with another "hot offensive mind" hire like Brad Childress.

This team needs an injection of energy. I know Singletary would come closer to bringing that than anyone on the market.

I'm in the minority, but I want a guy who's offensive minded, works well with young kids, and has head coaching experience.

I'm sure JJ will come up with someone better, but I would be happy to give Norv a try after what he's done in SF with that offense.

He did a good job in Washington and a sorry job in Oakland...his biggest mistake was going to Oakland in the first place.

I will say this...if you judge a guy only by his past Head coaching success or failure, you're not going to have many guys to choose from...there's a reason they are all available.

Besides Norv was a true Cowboy, and beating the Skins with a former coach of theirs would make me smile.

If you get an offensive mind, they had better be well-rounded.

Our defense is the issue right now.

Unless we get an exceptional coordinator, it will continue to be a problem, because we are not going to overhaul the entire defensive roster.

I agree, but I guess I like the idea of building the offense into something special now that we have our QB, so I want a coach who's innovative and can help Romo....finding a great dc is paramount...but I think you can find a dc or dc/assistant head coach from many teams with great defenses, someone who'd be able to bring some good coaches with him.

I'm not sure bringing in a DC to be head coach for the first time is the answer...then he's thinking about other things and may not do as well with the defense as we hope.

Anyhow, I'm sure JJ will surprise us all....some of the college choices would really dismay me, but I'd be happy to see what Norv can do.
