Very few teams use the screen pass anymore, but if the Cowboys did, they would screw it up royally too.

I thought the Cowboys were severely out-coached. Haslett ate Garrett's lunch.

They were also out-executed though.

Defensively, it was cringe-worthy again. Maybe Rob Ryan gets a bit of an excuse due to the injury situation, but man...

Best way to win this game was with a strong run game to keep Washington off the field. Garrett is incapable of calling an entire game. Flashes of greatness on one or two drives, but we can't spot NFL teams the first half of every game we play them.

We opened up the second half running with success. Then we got pass-happy and started punting routinely.

We gave up on the run when there was no reason to and gave up our chance to control the tempo and keep their offense off the field. The Commanders meanwhile stuck with the run - a no-brainer game-plan on a crappy field like that - and had the success we forfeited.

Look, I like Garrett - but as the head coach, not coordinator. We need Norv Turner in here bad. If we had him calling plays tonight we'd be celebrating a victory and awarding the game ball to Demarco Murray.

Norv Turners San Diego offense was middle of the pack. Quit trying to put the band back together. This futile clinging to the 90's is holding this team back desperately. From sticking with clown Campo too long, to hiring the backup QB as coach to some pipe dream that Norv turner can straighten out the backup QBs mess. Its over, move on.

Question for the group:

Does Garrett not have any screen passes in his playbook or is there some limitation of the talent on this team that prevents him from calling those plays?

There was a SUPER PATHETIC one to Harris.

JG is over matched and gets out coached on a regular basis. Next year feels like a wasted season with him back.

I think the offensive line is grouped in with the coaches. They suck. There should be 0 times in the NFL where a free blitzer comes in, but that happened every snap.

I'm here more than Romo. I just haven't seen much to inspire me since he came here as an OC or HC. A lot of this is team discipline, penalties, time management and play calling at specific times. Just seems to go away from what is working until forced.

Would've been nice to have a play that actually countered the blitz.

Garrett needs to be done as OC asap. He cannot handle pressure.

We just can't deal with a defensive game plan that puts pressure on our OL. That has to be countered by coaching. Too bad we can't figure out how to do so :-(

This thing is rotten to the core. I don't really blame Romo too much. It sucks that he goes out with a dump off pass that is picked, but that is life, I guess. When you have less than a second to read the defense and react, you are going to make mistakes.

I called on Turner, not to resurrect the 90s, but in hopes that we bring in the best offensive coordinator in football.

Wasn't a screen pass. Not even close. know the game.

It honestly looked like Romo was trying to counter the blitz by pointing out where Demarco needed to be. If the coach wasnt going to help him, he was going to do it himself.

Jason Garrett was terrible today. He had no answer for the Commanders' blitzes and ignored the short passing game like usual. No screens to slow the blitz and no slants to attack the middle of the field.

Just poor job all around by him IMHO.

RGIII didn't have to throw a difficult pass all night long. And yet, it seems like that's never the case with us.

Bleh.
