Blame Wade Wilson for Dak Prescott

i dont blame the cowboys for Dak prescott - he was a 4th round pick - they have gotten more value out of that then most any other 4th round pick in history.

THe issue is the contract he just got and not having the guts to part ways once his 2nd contract ran out
to say Jerry has screwed up handling Dak contracts is an understatement. in the first one, they argued over a couple of mill/year, and they could have easily signed him, but decided to play hardball and ended up with their pants around their ankles and bent over...so they franchised him. the difference between cost of franchise tag cost wiped away, stephens insistence on saving a couple of mill a year. then they handed him a contract, ok, at the time. gave Dak all the leverage. had no back up plan. tried to bluff with their card open on the table and they got caught with their pants around their ankles, bent over...again.

but then this one. have ZERO QBs under contract for 2025. obvious that Lance wasn't a threat.....and literally wait until an hour before season starts to get contract signed....how stupid can you be, again Jerry got caught with pants around his ankle, bent over saying thank you sir, may I have another!

Blaming a QB coach for a 4th round QB who became a franchise QB all because he hasn’t won a SB? Might as well blame Sean Payton for Romo. He had pretty much the same career/results Dak has had. It’s pretty funny how some fans act like Dak was the worst possibly thing that could have ever happened to the Cowboys.

2016, sucked against the only 2 legitimate defenses we played. You just have missed 2017 and 2018 pre-Amari.. and even post Amari he was still horrible against zone, always has been..
Baltimore was a top defense in 2016 & Dak had 301 yards passing, 3 TDs and no INTs

Minnesota was also a top defense, and while Dak's numbers were modest (139/1/0) he far from "sucked". He was very efficient & had a 108 Passer Rating.

Bears were a top passing defense in 2016 and Dak had 248 yards, a TD, no INTs and a 123 passer rating.

As for before Amari, what QB shines without tools to utilize?

Face it, while Dak has his shortcomings, and his contracts are a problem, no reasonable person can say he was a bad choice for a 4th round draft pick.

The problem has never been the drafting of Dak Prescott, he was an historic 4th round pick.

The real problem was his contracts, the absence of genuine competition at the position and the attempt to turn him into something he wasn't.

Dak wasn't a gunslinger, he was a very capable bus driver so long as the offense had their strong lineup. They should have continued to use him the way they did his rookie season.

They also should have made a point to acquire an alternative instead of behaving as if the QB position was set for the next 10 years. This would have also given the team leverage during contract talks.

Any negative feelings about Dak should be directed towards management.
Dak is a very good QB. The FO just needs to put the people around him...just like any other team. Aikman wasn't that good until you put that full compliments of players and coaches around him. Same as Romo. So, yeah, blame the front office. If you look at Mahomes passing numbers....not anything that stands out. But, he has a helluva coaching staff and a good team around him.

This. I “blame” no one for Dak Prescott. For a 4th round pick, he’s had an incredible career.

It’d be different if I thought Dak was a lazy bum who doesn’t try on the field, but that isn’t true. He gives it his all.

The fact that “his all” isn't good enough is the issue.

I blame the team for giving him a huge contract when it’s clear he wasn’t the guy. But I don’t blame him for it. He’d be an idiot not to milk Jerry for as much money as possible.
