I agree that the number of injuries definitely hurts. But these guys are all professionals. They should at least be able to tackle. Not sure if that's on the DC, but any defensive player on an NFL roster should be able to tackle. That bothers me almost as much as guys running wide open in the secondary.

Regardless of injuries this D is on track to possibly be one of the poorest units in the history of the NFL. Ever. Let that sink in for a while.

"Regardless of injuries"

LOL. Like missing 7 starters on that side of the ball is irrelevant. Yeah, Kiffin's dealing with that AND implementing a brand new system.

I bet Rob Ryan would've done great things with our D even if he had to deal with a crazy amount of injuries! Oh wait.

No defensive coordinator in the history of football could stop the Saints offense without SEVEN projected starters on the field. Get real.

Rob's defense had the same injuries but NEVER was this hapless. Kiffin has shown nothing. He showed nothing at USC. He's got nothing.

Injuries do factor into assessments, absolutely. But Kiffin's D will soon be the worst to ever suit up in the annals of the NFL. He should be golfing with his retired buddies.

Sometimes in football, a crazy rash of injuries make it virtually impossible to succeed no matter how good the coaching. This is one of those times.

It's hilarious how some people are crying about the Rob Ryan firing now.

Remember how bad his D was last year after the absurd rash of injuries? Now that Kiffin's dealing with the same thing (if not worse), we want HIM gone? Even though you regret not giving Rob the same leeway?

Then there's the reality that Kiffin's trying to implement a new scheme, on top of all the injuries. Those aren't excuses, those are facts.

Sorry, you can't have it both ways. Either Rob AND Kiffin should get free passes for having to deal with an ungodly number of injuries, or neither of them should get the pass. Don't be inconsistent now just because you're emotional.

Now Kiffin will probably be gone after this year and many of you will be cheering when it happens. Just remember how you were also cheering last year when Rob got the axe. Funny how his D is doing great now in New Orleans since he's starting players who were actually projected to be starting.

I don't know what the answers are as I don't know if anything can be done about our horrific luck recently with defensive injuries. Some have suggested that the training staff is to blame and maybe there's something to that... or maybe there's nothing to that since none of us know nearly enough about our training regimen compared to that of other teams.

Bye week couldn't have come at a better time. The good news is we're still in 1st place (thanks to tiebreakers) and we have a chance to get Lee, Durant, Claiborne and Wilcox back before the end of the year. Then we'll see if Kiffin's unit can step up.

Kiffin's defense has stunk since game one against the Giants. The team had some injuries, but it was a healthy secondary that allowed Eli to move the ball at will. I will cheer the day he is gone. By the way, I cheered when Rob got his phone call too. This team needs a DC that runs a modern version of the 4-3 and go from there.

The Cowboys were ranked 19th last year with Ryan. And Lee was out for 2/3 of the year in 2012. Ryan did an awesome job. As empty as the shelves were for him to put up 19th seeding was quite an accomplishment.

This defense is a lock for 32nd ranking. And we will be far behind the 31st team.

OK then, blame the guy who hired him in the first place.
He's sucked since the best days of Sapp have been over.

His defense his been giving up ridiculous yardage all season - at an all time record pace. Who should be blame then - the cheerleaders?

Ryan was 24th in points allowed. We are now 23rd.

So I blame the guy making the hiring decisions.

You are not a good fan if you insist on having this negative attitude. You are expected to blindly support this team without these nasty facts.
