Based on making plays. Tackling, you name it. He has shown his ability from day one and continues to get better.

I admit Bland has looked good but the starting CBs are Diggs, Lewis and Brown. Bland will get his reps, probably at the expense of Wright and Joseph. But there is no way they start him over the 3 guys from last season. It will be interesting to see who get the start if Lewis is unable to play week 1.

If Jourdan Lewis is heathy I want him in the slot . Bland passed Joseph & Wright to be honest about this . On the long TD he gave up he had the coverage needed to turn around probably a pick

Bland looks good so far, but lets be honest, the only starting quality WR he faced gave him some things to work on. Gotta remember Lewis would probably look real good against Seattles 5-9th WR also. Lewis probably covers Lockett much better than Bland did because he has the real reps...in time Bland could be much more than a slot CB but lets let him work on it some more.

Needs to be more consistent.

But it was a normal play he will see from starting WR, Playmaker was even saying how he needed to use his hands more on that against Lockett..again Bland looks good just has some things to learn when going up against starting caliber WR's.

i agree. I wouldn’t be upset if we cut Joseph to keep Bland and Wright.
