Bledsoe - 2006 Milestone

He'll never pass Tarkenton in my heart until he gets to co-host a variety show.

With a woman at least as good looking as Cathy Lee Crosby.

I pulled some stats off the CBS sports web site. It is just some QBs that have been around for a while and a few others known as fumblers. Looks like some may not be too right because it seems odd that Delhomme has only lost 1 fumble out of 40.

  • QB Games Fumbles Lost
  • Brett Favre 225 130 53
  • Kerry Collins 152 121 44
  • Drew Bledsoe 188 120 48
  • Vinny Tesatverde 223 114 33
  • Steve McNair 139 84 30
  • Daunte Culpepper 81 81 33
  • Trent Dilfer 123 74 26
  • Tony Banks 97 73 31
  • Mark Brunnel 147 71 2
  • Jeff Blake 120 68 0
  • Aaron Brooks 85 59 21
  • Kurt Warner 73 58 21
  • Brad Johnson 130 54 20
  • Trent Green 104 53 18
  • Michael Vick 58 46 20
  • Peyton Manning 128 43 0
  • Jeff Garcia 91 42 18
  • Jake Delhomme 54 40 1
  • Doug Flutie 92 38 2

It's suddenly become popular to hate on Drew... Before Flozell got hurt I remember him being the best QB in the NFC. Hmmmm....

No, even then most of us who'd seen him play extensively said "just wait, he'll show us the Bledsoe we know".......and we were right.

John Barber, Skip Stevenson. you just can't beat that cast

Just watch the games @ Washington and @ NY in the 2nd half of the season. Some of the worst o-line play I've seen to date. Then watch the Chiefs game when they gave him time, he picked them apart. If Flozell would've stayed healthy this year, he'd be heading to Hawaii and probably starting.

Screw Bledsoe and his milestones. I want to see the Cowboys winning Super Bowls again.

Somebody give me an "Amen Brother."

Right about what? You were dead *** wrong on Bledsoe. He came in and took us right to playoff edge. Threw for 3700 yards and 22 Td'S. Behind a terrible Oline and no running game yet had the second best offensive performance since 1995 in Dallas...... you go boy!

You keep being right as Parcells and Bledsoe finish ramming it down your throat in 2006! Sideways!

Drew will probably pass the 200 interception mark and with 12 more could be ranked #20 in category. :D

Retires as #20 in INTs but top 10 in all other categories. I'd say that's fantastic!!

This isn't to bash Drew, but you keep posting about this being the 2nd best offense since 1995 is not an impressive stat. It is actually quite meaningless. The offenses have been very anemic lately, so just being 2nd best to 95 doesn't really take that much. Repeating it a 100 times doesn't change that.

What bothered me most about having long timers like Vinny T, Bledsoe, Tuna, Key, Terry Glenn ... over the past two years is when the tv highlights career achievements, NONE of them were Cowboy achievements.

So I could care less about them.

I don't give a crap that Bledsoe has thrown for 43K miles ... only 3000 yards were as a Cowboy. Those are the only ones which matter to me.

You should also care about the 104 yards he threw for against Dallas in '03. His ineptness in the 10-6 Buffalo loss basically allowed Dallas to make the playoffs that year.

I exposed him in a couple of draft thread so little norsy claims I'm someone else now (which any mod here can tell him I'm not but he already knows that) just to try to get under my skin.

It's not working but I may just school him again for the heck of it.

All-time leaders

1. D Marino 61361
2. *B Favre 53615
3. J Elway 51475
4. W Moon 49325

5. F Tarkenton 47003
6. *V Testaverde 45252
7. *D Bledsoe 43447
8. D Fouts 43040
9. J Montana 40551
10. J Unitas 40239

Will overtake VT and should pass Tark by season end. Another 2007 season and he's over 50,000 yards at age 35.
Other than Manning there are no other active QB's that will sniff 40,000 yards for close to a decade. So much for modern era......The passing era was more 82-96.......

He needs a Super Bowl Pelt next to the two AFC Champ pelts already hanging. That 2nd Super Bowl ring will be special!

And just think if Drew is still in great shape and could play well into his late 30's whether he wins multiple titles in Dallas or not.

I honestly believe he has an outside chance of surpassing Dan Marino's career passing yards. But whether he accomplishes that feat or not, he's still a first ballot hall of famer. He will definitely finish in the top 3 barring injury or early retirement.

Big deal, he played what 50 years to reach that mark? Vinnie Testeverde is garbage, I'm embarrassed that he even played in Dallas. He's a career bum that had ONE good year in NY. I hate people who compare this clown to a MVP calibur player like Drew.

Get used to it.

Bledsoe could even pass Elway before he retires. If Bledsoe could win 2 SBs for the Cowboys, it would be real tough for HOF pickers to keep him out of HOF. After all Marino has no wins, Favre only 1, Elway 2 and Bledsoe comes along with 2 as well and higher passing numbers then Elway. It might be quandry for Bledsoe whether he goes in Cowboy or NE cause of Cowboy bias; he also probably pick Parcells to speak. Know idea of Bledsoe taking us to 2 SB wins, but sure would tick off HOF selectors wouldn't it? What means would they use to diss Bledsoe?

I agree..but for now Id be happy if Bledsoe took us to the playoffs. Once there, let's talk about the SB.

"Legends" in your own mind - get over it

Yes, Dallas was ranked 12th in NFL in offensive yards in 2005. 2nd best since 1995 - we were 8th in 1998. Yes - a decade of anemic offenses. Bledsoe is righting that already. 2nd most passing yards in team history and who/when threw more TD's in a season?

Get that Oline and RB game in gear and we are lethal in 2006.......

i don't know about lethal. but a great Oline and a RB game in gear did wonders to one Jason Garret on turkey day in 1994 so I'm sure it would work for Drew, Koy or even Woody.

Last time a Dallas QB threw more than Drews 23 TD's......

1983 - Danny White

Last Time a Dallas QB Threw more than Drews 3700+- yards.....

1983 - Danny White

2006 Season he will smash the team passing records as we take this team deep into Playoffs. With any kind of Oline we are playing Sunday candidly.
