Bledsoe has issues with being sacked. He's got okay pocket presence, but doesn't necessarily get into the pocket very quickly and is poor at moving his feet to avoid the rush and throw. He does like to hold onto the ball too long, but for this year that facet of his game has been blown out of proportion. It also doesn't help that he's a big guy who doesn't like to operate out of the shotgun. Good QB's who work well out of the shotgun generally make it difficult to sack. The problem is that there are a lot of QB's that are not comfortable with it so they'd rather chance the sack than the INT.
I'm not placing any blame on Bledsoe. The O-Line stinks has stunk for quite sometime...even before Parcells. But whether we like it or not, we do need to be pretty decent in pass protection for him to be good because he's limited in the ways I stated above. He isn't Tom Brady who operates well from the shotgun, has superb pocket presence and great footwork to make the lives easier for the O-Line. He isn't Peyton whose superior ability to read defense and operate from the shotgun makes him a tough guy to sack.
But even still, those guys would see a dropoff in production with the Dallas O-line and the fact is that while the injuries haven't helped matters, they've largely neglected the O-Line for the most part over the past 5 years.
Rich.................
of course Gurode and Rogers being busts didn't help matters any
