Last year Buffalo was 9-7 "despite" Drew. Dallas was 6-10. Now Buffalo is 4-10 and Dallas 8-6. Dallas has twice as many wins when Buffalo should have 1.5 times as many wins as Dallas based on last year's records. Thus Drew brought a factor of 3 to the winning percentage. 3 times as many wins with Drew. Buffalo was 3-13 before Drew and 4-10 after Drew. They averaged 8-8 with Drew.

Bledsoe has issues with being sacked. He's got okay pocket presence, but doesn't necessarily get into the pocket very quickly and is poor at moving his feet to avoid the rush and throw. He does like to hold onto the ball too long, but for this year that facet of his game has been blown out of proportion. It also doesn't help that he's a big guy who doesn't like to operate out of the shotgun. Good QB's who work well out of the shotgun generally make it difficult to sack. The problem is that there are a lot of QB's that are not comfortable with it so they'd rather chance the sack than the INT.

I'm not placing any blame on Bledsoe. The O-Line stinks has stunk for quite sometime...even before Parcells. But whether we like it or not, we do need to be pretty decent in pass protection for him to be good because he's limited in the ways I stated above. He isn't Tom Brady who operates well from the shotgun, has superb pocket presence and great footwork to make the lives easier for the O-Line. He isn't Peyton whose superior ability to read defense and operate from the shotgun makes him a tough guy to sack.

But even still, those guys would see a dropoff in production with the Dallas O-line and the fact is that while the injuries haven't helped matters, they've largely neglected the O-Line for the most part over the past 5 years.

Rich.................
of course Gurode and Rogers being busts didn't help matters any

Nice post Rich... the only thing I disagree with it is the thing about neglecting the O-line over the past 5 years.

I think it's more of case of being very unlucky both with draft picks and free agents.

Failing to hire a competent OL coach has nothing to do with luck. It has to do with Parcells caring more for a synchophant standing next to him than someone who will challenge his infinite wisdom.

For crying out loud...

Did we not tell them Michael....

OH YEAH we told them... maybe 500 post worth... and they still don't get it...

now listen up people...

Bledsoe puts a whole lot of pressure on an offense and especially the o-line

now before we continue to drag everyone of the 5 or 6 o-lineman through the mud again and again...

try and understand that what you may grade as a big fat F for an offensive line is really a C with a QB that can provide a little bit of help...

Don't believe me...check his previous stops...or check his sack totals...

there was a reason Belicheck said what he did...

Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Juke said it best when he said Bill has become too thin skinned
