By the end of this year, Bledsoe should be #7 in passing yards and # 12 in passing touchdowns. Not bad for an average QB that won't make the HOF :D

You're obviously trying to call someone out and it's not me but I'll take the bait.

Bledsoe has had a pretty nice career but you don't get to the hall of fame just by playing long enough to rank high on numbers lists.

What's his lifetime QB rating?

How many championships has he won?

He has to get a title as far as I'm concerned to get to the HOF because his numbers aren't overwhelming.

Marino won how many championships?

Bledsoe has won 2 AFC championship games - on pace to break 50,000 yards passing and only 2-3 have ever done that, You just can't convince me you suck to do all that. Kid was drafted as a 20 year old Kid by Parcells.

He's lighting it up and a big reason we CRUSHED Eagles and are 5-3 and poised to make playoffs. Drew on pace for close to 30 TD's, 12 TD's. 62% completes and 4000 yards.

Drew haters are pissing into the wind.....

I'm not a Drew hater.

He doesn't suck, he's playing well.

Drew's numbers aren't comparable to Marino's.

Well, there's this stat that's used to measure a QB's performance. It's not perfect but it's the best we've got... and Drew's lifetime QB rating is 77 while Marino's is 86.

Drew would also have to average about 20 td passes per season the rest of his career, and he wouldn't equal marino until 10 more seasons.

Marino had 5 seasons with a qb rating over 90 and 1 season over 100, while this will be Drew's first.

I don't think his numbers alone are good enough to make it.

But you aren't really comparing Drew's career to Marino's at this point, are you?

You don't understand Trip. If you disagree with certain agendas, it means you're a hater.

We all know better, but wear it proud.

Marino is a HOF no arguments

Drew is borderline.

The debate is nore with the Fouts of the world.

Drew wins a SB there is no debate - he's in

I'm rooting for him. He's got a hall of fame arm. But I think championships are his only ticket at this point.

You're right he could hit 60,000 but that qb rating really hurts him honestly. It suggests he's had an average career and with the competition, any stat that suggests you're average, never mind the most important one... it'll be tough.

Darn it.

I guess I'm a hater then.

But I don't want to be.

Oh well.....

I may be the first hater ever that thinks he's going to put up one of the best ratings in franchise history.

Yeah, I'm the only hater on the board who says arguing about who the backup is doesn't matter because we should be pulling for Bledsoe.

It feels strange, but it is what it is.

Before Drew became a cowboy how many of you would have put him in the Hall of Fame? SuperBowl he's in...No SuperBowl is probably isn't! Which how it should be!!!

Haha. You know, I like Bledsoe, but I find it funny that to extrapolate his TD totals, you round up by 4, but his INT totals, u just double.

:)

Marino is the #1 all time passer. There are lots of other people in the HOF that aren't the #1 passer with most yards, most TDs most attempts and most completions of all time. Note that Marino averaged 254 yards per game and Drew averages 233 yards per game (92%). Not too far off. Fran Tarkenton is a better example of a non-Super Bowl winning HOF person. Note John Elway didn't win his first SB until he was 3/4 years older than Drew currently is.

The only debate is when Drew will make the HOF, not if. These people who say he has to do this/that to make it, they are really saying "first ballot" HOF. I don't think he'd end up first ballot if his career ended next game, but with his numbers he eventually will. Especially if he makes the playoffs this year and/or the Pro Bowl.

In his career, Dan Marino only played 8 more games than Elway (from the 1983-1999 era, same era as Elway). In those 8 games, Marino went 844 for 1188 for 9886 yards with 120 TDs and 26 INTs, a 120.5 rating (1235 yards and 15 TDs/3 INT per game). Just a little better than Elway, but Elway won the SB. Elway also played in Denver where he got to go 8-0 and get home field in the playoffs every year.

Marino and Elway averaged 238 games in their career. Assuming Drew finishes with that many games (meaning he plays 3 more years after this one), and assuming he maintains his career pace (not this seasons pace), Drew will finish with 4777 completions (#2) out of 8435 Attempts (#2) for 55,454 yards (#2) and 309 touchdowns (#4). Screw the rating. He's in on those numbers.

If Drew can maintain this seasons pace for the rest of his career, he'd end up with a career rating of 80.4, similar to Troy Aikman's 81.4.

Why do any of us care if Bledsoe gets into the HOF? All I care about is how he plays from here on out. The HOF is a joke anyhow. Screw his career stats...they shouldn't matter a bit.....what matters is this year. Some act like he's been a career Dallas Cowboy.

I'm a huge Drew fan being from NE but Marino is likely the best passer of my lifetime, at least!
