My reply here is the same as in another thread:

Nors and others think that QB play is all about stats. If you paid attention to the ring of honor ceremony last night you would be reminded that it is all about wins. 14 points is not a good offensive performance. The Qb missed open throws down the stretch, anyone who would deny that is just not being honest with themselves. Bledsoe had ZERO pressure all night. Sometimes he actually had to just throw the ball away because he stood there for what seemed like 5 minutes and nothing was open. So to miss open throws with no one in your face is just poor passing. He also made some good throws, I would not deny that, and I don't like taking the Terry Glenn TD away from him. The QB's job is to run the play called, it was a great play call, great execution, perfect throw by Bledsoe. My opinion is that he played well enough for us to win in week 1, and helped us lose in week 2.

LOL.... earth to Nors, earth to Nors. Drew Bledsoe is no Troy Aikman. Get real.

111 QB rating - 4Td's and 0 interceptions.

That was a good Washington D and a conservative gameplan. Oline killed us with Penalties. Defense scorched twice in last 4 minutes. Lets blame it all on Drew.

Classic.

How dare you compare Aikman to Bledsoe... not even close my friend.

Who is blaming it all on Drew?

We have a pretty good list...

Parcells
Zimmer
Payton
Roy Williams
A. Glenn

Bledsoe is the leader of the offense. An offense that scored one crummy touchdown on a trick play.

That's sad. And he deserves some censure for that.

He's no Aikman - but surround him with that cast......of hall of famers.

Regardless...

He has to create more than 13 points a game.

Aikman is a hall of famer, and that cast benefited from HIS presence, just as much as he did from theirs.

Yeap and the guys around him are part of it as well. We hurt ourselfs with some costly penalties that killed some drives and again we went up aginst a pretty solid defense and they do deserve credit for their play.

I don't think we lost because of Drew. We lost because of a conservative game plan and because no one on defense could step up when we needed them to and stop the 'Skins.

I agree. It wasn't Bledsoe's fault.
We were to dang conservative in our play calling, and, I believe, our defense relaxed at the end.

There's just no way Brunell, who had been pressured all day, should have had time to throw not one but two scoring bombs on the Cowboys.

Hey Nors, this is amazing isn't it? Incredible actually. Drew is better than anything that we have had since Aikman.

He will never be accepted because he wasn't homegrown.

I disagree. I am HAPPY we have Drew Bledsoe. He IS better than anything we have had since Aikman. He played better than well, he played OUTSTANDING in week 1.

Why does everyone have to be BLIND in their loyalty to be considered a fan of someone, or of the team?

For my part, I'm just trying to be honest. I don't think you can say a 13 point offensive output, and missing open throws down the stretch qualifies as a good game. Did he play horribly? No. Can you hang the loss on him? No. Did he contribute to the defeat? yes. And so did 50 plus other guys.

What I'm trying to say is that football isn't baseball. An appeal to stats, in many ways, is meaningless. DID WE WIN THE GAME? There is the stat you need to worry about when it comes to QBs.

And I don't think you have to run down our hall of fame QB (Aikman) to make your points. I like Drew Bledsoe, but he ISN'T Aikman. Not a hater of Bledsoe, just trying to be objective.

Im not bashing Drew, I like him. You are right, he isnt making mistakes. In my opinion with as many years as he has in the NFL he could have done a bit more to help. He has to be the leader of this offense, he has to pump these guys up to win. I didnt see him do that.

But how much sideline stuff do we get to see watching on tv compared to what really goes on. I bet he was doing that. You cant blame Drew for anything last night, except for maybe a couple of throws that fell short. He hit KJ for a first down, but it got called back, and JJ's run got called back (which we all know was BS), so really, Drew has nothing to be blamed for in this game. No INTs, no fumbles lost, he showed outstanding awareness and our line gave him time to go through his progressions and get it to the right people. Taht game was lost because of a holding call. I know our defense ( Roy and Glenn) get a lot of blame, as they should, but like I said in another thread, if that hold hadnt been called, we'd all be singing a different tune.

He's a 500% QB for his career, we're 1-1. Shocking.

The Dallas Cowboys are 1-1 to sit there and claim that this loss is on Bledsoe is wrong.

I just don't see Bledsoe being 1-1 when it was the team that went 1-1.

13 points isn't a good total, but against this Washington team its probably going to be enough to win most games against them this year. Bledsoe looks pretty decent against one of the better defenses in the league, I'm not upset about last nights performance. I'm not upset about the first TD from them, the one that gets me is the second one on the exact same play.

Imagine if he was playing bad?

Pathetic the response by Dallas fans

I didnt even bother going to that link because I really just dont get that deep into stats unless it is TDs and INTs but you are right, Bledsoe is definately a pleasant surprise.

I just wish Crayton could have held on to that ball, but Taylor came in so fast and Crayton was just blindsided.

Bledsoe played good. Normally a QB will show his/her real strips when going up against a solid defense. I dont think he has even thrown one interception yet.

You cannot blame this on Drew Bledsoe, and anyone who even tries to has an agenda. And yes, this is coming from someone who was TOTALLY against bringing in Drew Bledsoe this season.

But in the end, Bledsoe will be judged on his wins/losses and rings. Right now he is getting the ball to his weapons but the playcalling on defense nullified that. I hope nobody here thought that the Cowboys were just gonna walk in and hang about 20-30 points on the 2nd best defense in the league last year.

I wonder if we should be worried about the Psychy of this team now? I bet Jerry Jones wanted to strangle someone last night, I know I did.
