13 point cushion with 4:00 left in the game. no momentum-shifting turnovers by our offense.

now, if we're gonna point fingers - this loss falls squarely on the secondaries' shoulders. plain and simple.

but, as always, the whole team (owner to towel boy) must chew on it.

the breaks went our way last week. not so this week. i figure we're even.

Cowboys just have to ramp it up a notch from here. i think they'll be okay. i just want to see steady improvement over the long haul.

Bledsoe hasn't proven anything to me yet.....nice first game....last nite...he hit a flea flicker with a man wide open....other then that....he still can't throw a flat pass. Both Vinny and Carter started strong and put up more yardage in their first few games.

I don't see much difference between Vinny,Carter and Bledsoe.....I really don't some do certain things better but overall....they grade out the same. You can dink and dunk all nite long....have your completion percentage high because of it....but when it counts and you need to make a play......Vinny,Carter and Drew are all the same.

We complained how how many ducks and fumbled snaps Carter use to have.....no one here complains about Drews ducks and short hops....and what was that...two or three botched snaps.

Drew throws a nice long ball.....cant throw short worth a crap....Lucky for Drew...the receivers bailed him out many times this year already.

I didnt even bother going to that link because I really just dont get that deep into stats unless it is TDs and INTs but you are right, Bledsoe is definately a pleasant surprise.

I just wish Crayton could have held on to that ball, but Taylor came in so fast and Crayton was just blindsided.

Bledsoe played good. Normally a QB will show his/her real strips when going up against a solid defense. I dont think he has even thrown one interception yet.

You cannot blame this on Drew Bledsoe, and anyone who even tries to has an agenda. And yes, this is coming from someone who was TOTALLY against bringing in Drew Bledsoe this season.

But in the end, Bledsoe will be judged on his wins/losses and rings. Right now he is getting the ball to his weapons but the playcalling on defense nullified that. I hope nobody here thought that the Cowboys were just gonna walk in and hang about 20-30 points on the 2nd best defense in the league last year.

I wonder if we should be worried about the Psychy of this team now? I bet Jerry Jones wanted to strangle someone last night, I know I did.

Best post in this thread, IMHO.

As with most things in life, you have to consider context. Like Mike points out, the 'Boys were playing an excellent defensive team. And Bill Parcells' QBs aren't asked to win games, merely drive the bus. No question Drew missed some opportunities, but no way he cost this team the game.

If you're anything like me, relying on your memory can be risky.

Quincy completed 56% of his passes, and was credited with 1 TD and 2 INTs through his first two starts in '03.

Testaverde completed 61% of his passes, and was credited with 2 TDs and 3 INTs through his first two starts in '04.

Bledsoe has completed 65% of his passes, and has been credited with 4 TDs and 0 INTs through his first two starts this season.

They all had comparable yards per attempt averages, with Drew's 8.12 YPA good enough for #5 in the league so far. He's not exactly dinking and dunking his way to that #2 passer rating of his.

And all three will be not-so-fondly remembered for three of the most painful losses I've ever experienced as a Cowboy fan. Houston in '02, Pittsburgh last year and Washington this year. Just wretched.

For example on the 3rd down play in the first half when Bledsoe only had 2 options on the play and they were covered. We were expecting blitz pressure and we max protected and when they didn't bring the all-out pressure our 2 receivers in the pattern were smothered. That wasn't Bledsoe's fault.

Finally, first I've seen someone point this out.

And it happened more than just that 3rd down play.

It's worth noting that 'associated with' and 'responsible for' are two different animals. I suspect Quincy/Vinny's upside-down TD to interception ratios had more to do with those losses than any mistakes Drew made last night.
