Exactly. He's an improvement over Vinny and Nor's first love, Quincy. But he's not a top QB.

He did he hit Key for a 1st that would have milked the clock but a holding penalty whipped that out. Bledsoe did a great job of not holding on to the ball and was using his head by not forcing passes instead throwing them away. Funny part is holding on to the ball and forcing the ball have been 2 big knocks on Drew and last night he did not do either of those things.

Doom, you're right. Bledsoe did do a great job from that perspective.

I thought Bledsoe played very well. He executed the gameplan that he was given. He had a couple of bad passes, but that happens. I'm still happy he's our QB this year.

My biggest beef with him is that it looked like he overlooked a wide-open Witten on that 4th down play where Glenn ran his route short. It's hard to tell, though, because ABC never gave you a wide camera shot on that play, but from what I saw, it looked like Witten would have been able to take it inside the 20, if not farther.

Im not bashing Drew, I like him. You are right, he isnt making mistakes. In my opinion with as many years as he has in the NFL he could have done a bit more to help. He has to be the leader of this offense, he has to pump these guys up to win. I didnt see him do that.

I grant you not a great offensive game for Dallas but some of that had to do with some very good play from the skins defense, people around here get caught up in a meaningless streaks over the skins fact is skins are an NFL team with some very good talent on that defense. Myself I thought from a football perspective it was a great defensive game and a couple of mistakes towards the end of the game cost us.

I saw that too. But the completion did help his stats look good, the pass to Witten could have sealed the win tho.

I don't think we lost because of Drew. We lost because of a conservative game plan and because no one on defense could step up when we needed them to and stop the 'Skins.

I disagree just a bit. I actually wished he would have held the ball a little more and try to make something happen. The ONE time he did hold it that extra second too long he had a DL at his feet and he torched Taylor by hitting Glenn down the right sideline for about 30 yards.

We need a blend of conservatism and yet, a feel for knowing when to go for the jugglar! We didn't do that last night, imo!

And had he taken the sacks of course he would catch hell for that as well. I don't think Drew played a perfect game by any means but I do think he played well enough for this team to win lastnight in the end the team did not get the job done.

My reply here is the same as in another thread:

Nors and others think that QB play is all about stats. If you paid attention to the ring of honor ceremony last night you would be reminded that it is all about wins. 14 points is not a good offensive performance. The Qb missed open throws down the stretch, anyone who would deny that is just not being honest with themselves. Bledsoe had ZERO pressure all night. Sometimes he actually had to just throw the ball away because he stood there for what seemed like 5 minutes and nothing was open. So to miss open throws with no one in your face is just poor passing. He also made some good throws, I would not deny that, and I don't like taking the Terry Glenn TD away from him. The QB's job is to run the play called, it was a great play call, great execution, perfect throw by Bledsoe. My opinion is that he played well enough for us to win in week 1, and helped us lose in week 2.

I understand your point and agree, subject to the comment that we actually would have to see the game tape that shows the whole field to see if plays were there to be made by Bledsoe in the passing game and he didn't see them or make them. Watching TV doesn't give you the view of the whole field to be able to make that call.

For example on the 3rd down play in the first half when Bledsoe only had 2 options on the play and they were covered. We were expecting blitz pressure and we max protected and when they didn't bring the all-out pressure our 2 receivers in the pattern were smothered. That wasn't Bledsoe's fault.

Captain I agree with you, but by open throws I meant the bounced balls and the overthrown balls.

Bledsoe had plenty of time to throw last night, with the rules today, there had to be people open. We're just not finding them, for whatever reason.
