Point is, Drew in the first few games put up better numbers than Troy normally did, Troy was never on a 4000 yard pace for 9 games. Now we criticize Drew for being more like Troy.

Yeah, I guess, if you were a very astute one, or one that respected what championship play at the QB position was, and meant.

But there were those back then that thought Aikman was simply a beneficiary of a great team around him.

Bledsoe has to win a championship before comparisons can be made, however I think big_neil wasn't actually comparing their careers but how we perceived their respective game-to-game performances on the field-- their numbers.

Drew is making plays and not driving this bus. The Dallas offense is not a ferrari, it's more like an H2. It will be fun to see if it has enough gas, Jones sure paid enough to fill the tank!

Three reasons why Troy Aikman is going to get more respect here than you seem able to tolerate.

When Drew Bledsoe has skins on the wall here he can join the worshipped. Not until he has skins on the wall for most people. If that gives you acid reflux I suggest maalox.

Neil - realize in the prime of Troy's career - he had Emmitt and he was running clock in the second half of almost every game.

Many a game, Troy had 140 yards passing in the first half, and 185 for the game, or thereabouts.

As much as you want it to be so, QB's aren't measured by the sum of their passing yards.

Troy was a hero, and I never said Drew was better. I just use Troy as the standard of perfection and remind you that he too was not perfect. He threw interceptions. He had games with 110 yards 0 TDs (and won a Super Bowl that year). And he kept them winning, as Drew has. And remember, we're comparing Drew at age 33 to Troy at age 27. Otherwise Drew has 4500 yards and 28 TDs per season.
