why is every person in the media on Brunell's...um, genetils?

look, the only advantage he has on Bledsoe, is that he's thrown only 9 INTs to Bledsoe's 15, Bledsoe has him beat in every other statistical category except for TD passes, each has 22

YPA: Bledsoe
yards: Bledsoe
comp. %: Bledsoe
attempts: Bledsoe
comp.: Bledsoe

oh if we only handled our business!!

Less attempts for Brunnell with just as many touchdowns and 2-0 head to head. 9 INTs to 15 is a hell of a difference.
btw: Nobody in the media is on a QB's genetils like Simms is on Bledsoe's.

Also....Brunnell had only 18 TD passes, until he played against Dallas, in which he had 4 TD passes, three of which came on short yardage after Dallas turnovers.

Overall though, Bledsoe has been the better QB all year.

It took Brunnell 16 weeks to pass Bledsoe in the passer rating dept.

Why cant more than one QB have a good year?

They both had good years. Bledsoe got just as much pub as Brunell when the Boys were winning.

Brunell is on a team that is extremely hot right now and he has been a nice part of that.

Brunell has looke sharper, quicker and more savvy than he did his last two, maybe three years in Jacksonville, and apparently his comeback is more about 'legs' than anything else. His game was always predicated on rolling ability and the decisionmaking that went with it, and his most impressive throws out of pocket to Jimmy Smith.

He looked so over the hill the past few years, who would have thunk he'd find the fountain of youth.

Supposedly he worked out like a demon on lower body strength and quickness this offseason, and consequently got his timing back.

On his worst day he's better than Ramsey on his best, tho on Ramsey's worst he's ten times the QB Mike McMahon will ever be.

If only Philly had a QB, maybe their D could pull it out..but William's blitzes against MM.......it's all up to Mike Vick, I guess.

Brunell was due. Until this season he was 0fer versus Drew dating back to college. He lost as Jax QB in OT in 1996 (giving the Pats as first round bye vs Jax who beat Denver) and he beat Jax in the playoffs. Jax beat the Pats later but with Drew injured.

Bledsoe could have Jerry Rice and Michael Ervin at receiver and somehow, some way, someone would come up with an excuse for him. Bledsoe had a good year, why can't we leave it at that?
btw: does Moss throw the ball to himself?

Brunell has had Portis healthy all year and better blocking as well.

Moss is a lot better receiver than Paul Hackett's draw plays ever let him be, but he is not the well rounded receiver Terry Glenn is. He's younger, faster as of now, so I'd take him straight up, but he hasn't Terry's hands, agility, or route running polish.

but all we've heard on this forum for two years is that Portis sucks. :bang2:

Hands and route running one could argue, but agility? C'mon, Moss is one of, if not THE most agile WRs...no...PLAYERS in the NFL. That's why he can take screen passes to the hizzous.

He is fast, straight line fast, but he is not exceptionally limber. He is also as brittle as Terry, and if TG fails to extend for a pass over the middle once a year, mulitply it that by 10 for Moss his years in NY.

Agility is about body control, about ability to contort and bend, flexiblility that is inherent, not learned. Moss is fast, like Joey G is fast, but neither of them can do what TG does. Taking screen passes to the house...Moss blows by defenders, but that is not agility per se.

But I still say Bledsoe is the better QB.

If I had a shaky offensive line like, say, ours, I'd take Brunnell. Better pocket presence, mobility and decision making under pressure.

But behind a good o-line I think Bledsoe can light it up in a way Brunell simply can't.

exactly. couldnt have put it better. why does it always have to be a competition with these two teams. both of these players are playing well. both of the players are a big reason in thier teams success.

As much of a hatred there might be between these two teams, i think that we should all be able to agree that both of the QB's have played well this year

I think both shocked the s*** out of a lot of people with what they did this year.

They had matching tombstones at this time last year.

Most definately! THey are both very good QB's who have done loads for their respective teams to get them where they are.

When the Skins lost David Patten to IR and Trash for a few weeks.....Brunell's production struggled I think. Then Cooley stepped up, Portis started catching more, and Moss wasn't doubled as much.

Both QB's had better years than I expected. I thought Brunell was done....and believed that Bledsoe would follow the path of his career by playing .500 ball.

I was wrong.
