The last two seasons the 49ers were a match nightmare for us. They can put pressure with their front four, and use everyone else to cover our wrs. They focused on Cd and dared us to beat them with the rest of the wrs. Dak was trying to play hero ball. Kellen Moore had Zero answers. Pollard got hurt early. and here we are again. The front office blew it by letting Cooper go a year to early, with gallops injury and not replacing him. So there is a lot of blame to go around. Did we fix everything.... looks like it but we shall see.

Not true.

There is always a mixed bag

Some QBs. Fault
Some QB and WR not on same page
Some WR fault. You can't tell me the overtime interception loss to JAGs was Daks fault
That one was certainly not on Dak.Some picks bounce off the receiver’s hands, at the same time some potential picks bounce off the defenders chest and are dropped. It tends to even out in the end.

Or this Gem.....

I'm telling he's slowwwwwwwwww......after 7 years still hasn't learned the ref needs to down the ball.........SLOWWWWWWWWWWW........

That is up there w/ the dumbest things I've ever seen in the NFL. It made no sense then and makes even less w/ the slightest bit of analyzation.

every QB has potential interceptions....hard to judge, but actual interceptions that happend can easily be analyzed.

It's called "Deer in the Headlights" panic syndrome.
You know the more I think about it I'll bet you Dakko had visions of the old win vs Seattle when he ran it in for a TD.
It's pretty evident he has 0 faith in his arm.......and I mean ZERO!!!!!

Does Dak "see" sufficiently? Does he see color? Why canna he adjust?

The article boils down to the issue of awareness on the field, which Tolzien skirts, but what he implies and what I infer is telling.

And, yes, handsome chaps, the game is super fast.
But tha Dak chap just needs a game in which everything slows down to 3/4 speed. Then he might make us forget the 2021 and 2022 games against the 49ers.
(Please withhold the praise for me and Mac. Don't send gift baskets. Your appreciation is me gold.)
Haha! I remember my brother telling me that we signed Vinny Testaverde. He said, "Yeah, he's a decent QB but he's colorblind." I thought he was serious. It wasn't until we watched a game together and Vinny threw a really bad pick and he said, "See what I meant?"

We’ll see how far an All-Star roster with a middling QB goes this season. I’m leaning towards a 2nd round loss to SF.

I hope everyone reads this.
You'll understand why he was so effective in 2016 .
As much as I loathe to praise Linehan, he recognized Daks limitations immediately and eliminated 50% of the field on most plays. Moved him out of the pocket so he had clear vision of the field. Most importantly bought him time to see separation.
As we moved him into the pocket, the problems began to show, starting with throws behind his receivers, as he's aged, this has become worse. As the play devolves as pressure increases he tends to only see his receivers and maybe 1 defender, not the second guy waiting to jump this below average desperation throw.
I wish him and us well.
Me pondering and scratching my head: WHY is Dallas talking about resigning Dak?

Dak in 6 playoff games has 15 TD's and 5 picks and a QBR of 92.3

Once again, the laughable lies of troll nation are blown out of the water. Facts are stubborn things.

Only two games he didnt play great were against the #1 defense in the NFL with the horrid Zeke at RB.

He has 11 TD's (7 of those 11 came in two of the six games - in the other four games he has 4 TDs and 4 INTS - and a rating of about 70.8).

Not criticizing Dak (many QB's don't perform as well in the playoffs), just pointing out the incorrect number in your "facts" since you want to criticize people using that as your shield.

By the way, same can be said for Romo and his playoff experiences.

I wonder which would bring greater joy—Dak flopping again in the playoffs, or Dak doing well and the Cowboys winning two or more playoff games…

No, absolutely not.

What I want is for the site leaders here at the Zone is to recognize that the crazy amount of Dak threads is like an invasive species destroying the biosphere of what could be a healthy NFL forum.

You guys, with your crazed hatred are the equivalent of the carp or snakehead fish polluting our NFL waters with what amounts to an overwhelming amount of “trash fish”, preventing those of us with regular ol’ “Cowboy Talk”, from having a place to carry on reasonable discussion.

Pappy, you are the poster child for the toxic environment here. You know it. The staff knows it, and God knows the tank and file know it.

Now, have a seat and let the adults have a reasonable discussion.
A "reasonable adult" would let people like Pappy post without reply. If he's this agitator...why do you allow him to succeed? By engaging him....YOU make it worse.

We got people and stirring things up....the Ultra Dak Crusaders. Trolling They literally, openly... admit it. Do you fight THEM? Mucking up our community too. If they wouldn't reply...like a real adult....our board would be much better place.

I guess in short....takes two to tango, right? If someone is trolling...you don't bite. An adult, anyway.

The reads are not only dependent on the QB. The receiver has to make their own reads and they both have to be on the same page.

There have been several analysts who have broken down film and shown that dynamic.

Now certainly, Dak started doing something last season which he didn't do before in throwing into coverage. The issue here is that people act like he has been doing that all his career which is just patently false as evidenced by his prior seasons. Is it the start of a trend? Maybe but it also could be simply an outlier as it is right now is the set.

The reads have been simplified and the emphasis is less on optioning and timing the route to be uncoverable and more on using route combinations to create opening and stress coverages. People want to act like that is about Dak and to an extent it has to be but I think it is much more about the Tolbert and Browns of the world who made repeated mistakes or simply could not keep up.

But I don't mind the Dak bashing. Most of of it is uncompelling nonsense and doubting him and the team is likely to only encourage a better performance. So whinge away guys.

What is it that you dont understand? Its pretty obvious. They wanted a play that would pick up about 20 yards and leave enough time on the clock for one more play from the 20 to score a TD.

It worked perfectly actually. Problem was the stupid ref was taking his sweet @ZZ time getting down the field. The ENTIRE Cowboys team is sitting there over the ball for 3 seconds before the ref even gets into the screen. Then he comes barreling in. 100% the fault of the ref.

Simply not true. There was 14 seconds left w/ no TOs. Running up the middle of the field there was beyond dumb.
