Blitz/press coverage has really affected Purdy

Purdy played pretty good for much of the game. He was like 11 of 13 in the first half. In the end the Vikings played better and that is why they won. Purdy will have to up his game when things are tough and that is the difference between a bus driver and a top QB. But considering he has not yet started overall one seasons worth of games anyone deciding on what he is are complete football idiots.
I agree 100%. I just think people would think differently of him had he been a first round pick. I just go by what I see. He had a pretty good game with two bad picks. It happens.

The Cowboys did pretty much the exact opposite of this. It was easily Quinn's worst game as a defensive coordinator. It was so bad, I almost get the impression he was hiding his cards for the playoffs. I am basically left with conspiracy theories to explain that game.

On Purdy: He is good. He doesn't have the size, athleticism or arm strength to be an elite QB but if you give him time, he will pick the right targets and hit them.

It was a total disaster on both sides of the football against the 49ers. Just shows how other teams are having success against them. Deebo being out both games cannot be discounted as well.
We can all agree there is no super team in the NFC.

i know quinn seems to prefer zone, but is there a stat showing how much more we go into zone since diggs has been out?
Quinn prefers man actually. They ran man at one of the highest rates last year and they are top 10 this year.

I been telling ya'll this. He is a system QB. Hes a timing, on schedule guy. Thats what he is. But if u can get him just a bit off his mark, off schedule, mess up his timing, he will give the ball away. We saw this 2 games in a row. The league has the template now.

....its fair to say, Viks have very good OL.

FOr the most part, kept Cousins in clean pocket.

Is it better players or coaching? Both?

We just need to Tonya Harding the 9ers entire offense and we should be fine.

looked it up, you right, misread a stat that combined cover 1 with cover 2-3 zone as 83% of his plays and thought that was all zone.
Also looked up his time in seattle and seems like he preferred more cover 3 there, and more cover 1 here.

We saw it again last night, the Vikings used the same blueprint and they don't have anywhere near the personnel that the Browns have. Blitz/play man coverage disrupts the 49ers timing passing game. Of coarse it certainly helps without Deebo who is difficult to tackle in space, but the same formula has worked where 49ers just scored 17 points in back to back weeks.

As for the 49er defense. the Vikings were able to run enough to keep them honest and Cousins beat their corners all night long, but something of note, Vikings didn't give up a single sack.
If CMC is slowed by injury and Deebo is out the 49ers aren't a good offense.
With those unique talents they are.

Fans are generally oblivious to injury beyond their own team, but it is what sets teams apart.
You don't pay guys 20m a year if you can replace them with a guy making 750K.

*NFL.

Chiefs are beatable but still favorites.
No one is close to penciled into the Super Bowl yet.
MIA is really good but has a ton of injury woes.

SF/PHI really good but similarly beholden to injuries.
Dallas was near great with Diggs and LVE. Still good but needs to fill holes.

Think Deebo out is the bigger loss, teams will be iffy singling him up as he is hard to tackle in space, he also creates a ton of mismatches when they line him up in the backfield, saw Lve forced to cover him a few times when they played.

I posted this many times, but Schwarts knows how to beat Shanny's offense. He has done it through out their careers. With different teams and players. Jim Schwartz is 9-1 against Schwartz after last week's win.

Boohoo injuries happen. Our star all pro CB is out for the season, half our o-line has been hobbled all season. Media scrutinized Dallas in those losses when we had players out, now they need to do the same for 49ers but they won't! They'll say "ooooh they have so and so out".

The Cowboys are not given the injury excuse sadly.

Today ESPN is saying he played a good game. LOL. They would have killed Dak for that game.
