For anyone deceiding to go with one, I suggest BlockBuster. The wait times for new movies is virtually non existent, maybe a few days for the popular ones and you get to rent them 28 days before Netflix. Also you can get video games from Blockbuster for no extra charge, a HUGE perk and helps save a ton of money. Only problem is you can't rent a new game for 3 months, but thats worth the wait. Only advantage I see netflix has is streaming, but if thats not a huge concern for you Blockbuster is simply the better deal and the shipping times are quick aswell, plus you can exchange in blockbusters to get your next movie/game even quicker when you desire to, very convenient when you want to watch a movie/play a game without waiting for the shipping.

Anyone else use netflix/blockbuster?

Screw Blockbuster. For years they charges over the top, idiotic late fees to their customers. They were slow to adapt to today's technology and had to go bankrupt and then come back reorganized. They won't get my business.

Blockbuster says it has On Demand which lets you stream content.

Thats not included with the subscription free like it is with Netflix, its rental like 3.99 to watch Wall Street money never sleeps.

I have the app loaded on my blu-ray and it usually works quite well. I subscribe to Netflix due to the streaming. I streamed a movie on my phone when I had a layover a few weeks back.

Netflix streaming is phenomenal. I get the DVDs, but that's honestly secondary to the huge catalogue of movies/tv shows I can stream straight to my TV through a Wii.

We use Blockbuster because you can return movies at the store if you wish.

Enjoy it while it lasts. All those stores will be going away at some point.

I used to be a loyal Netflixian, but they've been doing crap lately that's been pissing me off. Prices keep going up with no real improvement in service, you don't get new releases till a month after they come out on DVD, the Watch Instantly selection is pretty pathetic and the licenses are always running out for it, etc.

If iTunes/Amazon/etc. let you rent HD movies for $4 or less, I'd completely switch over to that at this point, but as it is I can't bring myself to rent a movie for 1/3 what it would cost to own.

Im not so sure. Blockbuster is in bankruptsy reorganizing atm and if they come out w/ a similar model to NetFlix, I see them thriving. If they adjust better w/ their on-demand service, I see them being even better than NetFlix.

Why?

They don't have the studios 28 day waiting period on new releases like NetFlix is under. Whatever Blockbuster deal they worked out w/ the studios was a genius idea.

They have got to bring a better model of on-demand. That is where the money is AT for these companies now.

It won't be easy. They are EXTREMELY late in getting into this technology.

They recently closed all their stores here where I live.

Blockbuster might still be around, but I think he's saying the physical stores will not, largely because there's little reason for them to exist any longer.

I am a little loyal to netflix, but being able to rent games too would be quite sweet. There are a ton of games I'd like to pay but not enough to purchase them.

I may check it out eventually.

The games is the reason I went with Blockbuster, and the being able to trade in at the store makes the value tremendous.

I'm not saying Blockbuster is going away, I'm saying their brick and mortar stores are. Everything is going digital. In the future everything will be streamed.

Agree 100%. I only use netflix to watch movies online. Plus, the newest movies are available here at the local flea market for $2 each....:D

Me likey Blockbuster very much!

I bought 10,000 shares on 11/5 @ 0.05 per. Sold 7500 shares on 12/13 @ 0.16 per, and have a buy order in for 12,500 more when/if it drops into the mid 0.8's.

Yes, me likey BLOAQ.PK very, very much! ;)

Penny stocks are worse than playing with fire. It's more like playing with nitroglycerin. They won't just burn you, they will destroy you. Most of the people who trade them and make money on them are day traders who do so electronically. They have a computer that pulls the buy/sell trigger. Much faster than any human can.

They are also the most highly spam-scammed stocks too.

I highly recommend you avoid them like the plague.

Thanks for the advice, and it is warranted.

I've had a Series 7 License for +15 years and I've taken the GSRRE back in 96. I kinda have a pretty good grasp on what I'm doing. ;)
