Blow this thing up!

Jerry & Stephen really need to get together on their free agent strategy. One wants to consider being subjectively aggressive, while the other doesn't want to even consider it. Such stupidity! It really sounds like it's time for Jerry to step aside and permit Stephen to take the reins of this team. If they're not capable of working together, all hope is, apparently, lost. No wonder this aimless team sucks!
Jerry himself kind of admitted 2024 didnt work (and appeared to blame it on Dak and injuries), ok bring back and use 2025 as the 'new 2024' where he needs to have an honest look at Dak and the draft pick over the past three years.

I suppose the question is: should he throw money at this team, when there are so many questions about those of Rookie Deals and Dak.

They do have a (so called strategy), its Annual Relevance. If he was mad about the GB game and was ever going to go to the extreme, it was last year 2024....either:
A) resign Tyron, Gilmore, Hankins, Pollard and go ALL-IN for one (two at best years), or
B) Trade: Dlaw, Tank, J-Lew, Martin, Wilson and let Dak play for his contract with a 'gutted roster'....yep 2024 would of hurt, but think where we'd be now.

Everything should have been blown up after the GB loss. Dak should have never been extended, I wanted to move on from Diggs, Lance trade was useless, got everything we could for Lamb.

Should have dumped / ate contracts to build around Parsons. Build the trenches and superior D. Could sign a duo of serviceable/ above average rbs for fairly cheap. Even servicble WRs for a year or two can come faily cheap. Hell even start Lance till we rebuild.

We have seen the better front offices rebuild teams into a 2-3 years span after dumping bad contracts, not resigning and overpaying for "we like our guys" approach, dumping aging stars. Oh wait we have Jerry
Very good post.
I wish the Cowboy front office would have followed your suggestions here.

Paying Dak was a mistake. You're just not going to get $60M in value out of him... Cooper Rush gave you probably 80% of Dak's play for $2M.

CeeDee was a defensible signing and he's done nothing but play out of his mind. Micah's a defensible signing at $40M/yr cause he just plays out of his mind and has a QB-ish impact on the team. Look at our defense in 2024 with and without him. I'd even say Diggs was a defensible signing. His problems have been injuries, not ability.

But Dak was an 8 year vet when we paid him, and he'd pretty much hit his ceiling. He's a technician of a QB with steeply declining physical skills, and he doesn't have the uber-quick processing needed to ball out as a weak armed pocket statue.

Now he's suffered another lower body injury, which is going to sap him of even more arm strength, and his mobility was already zero. Dude is morphing into Cooper Rush, while getting paid like Pat Mahomes. And he's got 3 more years fully guaranteed.
This reality is a (bleep) I tell ya.
Spot on bro.
