Blue/Trigg unique skillsets but maturity concerns

Blue and Trigg are both typical in a lot of ways
each has tremendous physical potential
each was probably getting preferential treatment since they started High School.
each got as far as they did in college mostly on their physical gifts
but in the NFL, you have to have more to actually be a starter
we will find out if they do

This isn't the first time I've seen this comment. But I still have no idea why anyone would think this. He's 6-4 240 that is legitimate TE size. He even commented that LBs cannot cover him.
Playing TE is just not about beating LB coverage or being a receiving threat in the red zone.

They've literally been looking for a receiving TE who can catch the seam passes for several years now. The eagles took a guy like him in the 2nd round. A former QB with blocking issues.
All I know is that I’d be surprised if he turns into something much. Triggs come and go.

Witten when young could get up that seam. We've never replaced that aspect in our offense since.

IDK If I consider him a star in the making, but he's on the same trajectory as it took Rico a while, and he reminds me of Tony Pollard, I mean he runs just like him if you will watch his game they're probably about the same size with speed and wiggle, so yeah, I like this room I don't know why people think we need to go in and add another to this group, Mafahs another bruiser..

I Like the whole room, Blue gives you home run hitting ability, and they need to really use that this year not a lot this dude doesn't need a lot of extra snaps, but I'd like him to at least touch the ball five times as a runner and get at least two to three more routes..

In my opinion they need to stop using CD Lamb and Turpin as much as running backs, and use the guys that are built to do it Same plays, same play calls Just use the guys were built to do this..
That's a consideration

I think you're rushing it not that I disagree it took Rico and now Davis a long time to catch on and yet they got every chance they did not get cut after 2 seasons.. It takes some players even like we talk about Guyton and another threat to actually pick up the pro game and figure it all out..

Guys do not always develop at the same pace as others Those are perfect examples right in the same room it took Rico three years just to start getting more carries in the coaches to trust him now Davis is on that same trajectory, sometimes these guys need more than two seasons, Fan comes in and says if they don't show it this year they're out..LOL
Good point/ observation.

Two words, my man: Peyton Hillis
;)
It's not hunters fault that it figure out how to get more involved I believe he has a little something to offer, he's not just the standard go back he can do more if they eat it go less to wide receivers the backfield and give our entire running back room more responsibility in these special formations and sets..

I mean runs more like Skateboo, I mean not quite like that, but he's more of a fullback in a running back roll, more straightforward guy but he's tough physical... I think Hunter was out the big running back that position typed right into full back.

It is really up to Blue to become a professional on and off the field. His skillset is a perfect complement to Williams power running game. He also has the ability to be dangerous as a pass catcher in space. He could take that next step or be off the roster shortly, really up to him.
This is where Blue can be an improvement over Davis. In the passing game, if they use him correctly.
But as you say, he must step up and want it.

As of now 2 RB spots will be between Blue, Davis, Mafah. As I do not see them keeping all 3 along with Williams and Leupke.
Davis has been on and off the PS for some years now, and has never got plucked. So that could be a possibility again. Then they can activate him at times.

Spann-Ford has been coming along pretty decent. More so on this blocking. But need to show he can be a threat in the passing game all. He did show some of that as well.
Many fans feel ho was, and could push to take over Schoonmaker as TE 2. But is that mostly because many fans do not like him.

If Trigg and even DJ Rogers show a lot in TC. Could one of them push Spann-Ford. Asfterall this is what like his 3rd or 4th year before he got opportunities late last season.

Or could they try to trade Schoonmaker for alate round pick. Then keep Spann-Ford and Trigg.

This could be an interesting TC competition.

Cowboy offense just doesn't have that home run type of back, outside of Blue. Same goes for the TE position lacking that athletic pass catcher.

Blue barely dressed last season as they just didn't trust him enough. In the season finale, he showed the explosiveness that Williams just doesn't possesses.

Trigg who many saw as a early day 3 pick, went undrafted due to his character concerns. His tape shows a huge catch radius like a poor man's Dez Bryant. Him up the seem and in the red zone with our other receivers could be downright scary.

The big question is, will these two players buy in and do what it takes to become key contributors next season? It is a big if at this time, but if they do, our offense could reach another level.
maturity is a big issue with both for sure. if they get their heads screwed on right and perhaps have a mentor for how to be a football player, they both can excel in their roles.

with those two and turpin we have some speed on offense that can be hard to defend if used the right way. imagine blue, turpin and Trigg (as a second TE) in specific formations. add lamb or pickens to the mix and we can force the defense to take the poison pill of their choosing

The offense could really reach new heights and be very difficult to defend. If those tackles can hold up, our passing game would have no limits.
