boats notes - Maliek Collins

Collins can play either tackle spot. He goes 310. I'm not sure why we cannot just play him at the 1. It's not like Collins didn't play a whole lot of it at Nebraska lining up in both A gaps.

I get the concern about core strength but Nick Hayden.

At 310 and naturally quick you could be talking about a player that could be a stout 1 Tech on run downs and 3 Tech on passing downs. His core strength is something he can improve with a pro conditioning regiment

Given the size difference I see Collins ending up at the 1. You can have 2 3 techs particularly on passing down.

I think you see both on the field on passing downs. Not unrealistic to think Collins could hit the 50% defensive snap mark as a rookie.

The way we postion our DTs in Nickel and Dime, arent they really both 3 Techs?

I was wondering where boat's been. Came back to the forum with a bang.

Do both our 1tech and 3tech play 1 gap?

In Kiffin's old defense the 1 tech was supposed to blow up the C and force a double team. It's been hard to tell what are 1T in the current iteration is supposed to do because Hayden spent so much time getting drive blocked instead of executing. McClain would come in and shoot gaps regularly. His problem wasn't getting penetration he just couldn't disengage or redirect.

If I had to guess I would say all 4 DL are instructed to get upfield.

If Von Miller fails another drug test he also is gone for a year. Broncos better prepare for life without him i guess....

Difference is Von Miller has been in the league for a few years.
Gregory failed the tests in the first and only year.

Problem with Gregory is his addiction isnt simple. He medicates his bi polar by smoking pot. Its basically his medicine and he not going to be very easy him to give it.

I hope for his sake he pulls through. But I dont think its gonna happen

They are still in the same boat.

Googled this. Many publications seem to say marijuana makes bipolar worse, not better.

i'm with you on that one bro. I hope he pulls it together because of this suspension. There have been plenty of guys that got suspended for drugs and after that they left them alone because they hated missing the game. I really really need Gregory to be one of those guys. People forget he was gonna be a top 5 pick before the combine last year. Dude is a baller.

Id love for that to be the case but I think he is going to have to hit rock bottom before he understands his medication is hurting before it is helping. Until I hear that he has bought into legitimate therapy, im not counting on him suiting up for Dallas

I dont think weed makes any mental disorder better. I have alot of friends that suffer from depression and PTSD and they use pot to medicate themselves. I think they sell themselves on it because thats what they want to believe, and I guess you get a bit of a placebo effect. I suffer from both these as well, and smoking pot has a horrible effect on me sometimes
