The fact you dont realize how much this helps everyone else on defense shows your limited understanding of this game.

We already had Bohanna and Hankins. I don’t see him being better than Hankins and no way we can keep 3 1Ts on the roster. 3rd and long those guys are coming out. TCU tape is awful.
I can’t remember hating a first round pick this much.

The hope is you get something from him against the pass but imo we most likely took a 2 down player which is such a prehistoric way of thinking.

Demanding a 3 down player in the 1st gave us Taco instead of Bosa.

A true nose who can pass rush goes before 26. If a team gets that player later, they got lucky. Maybe we'll get lucky on the pass rush. Maybe not.

But I'll be happy if we got a true nose who makes a difference on 2 downs. That was the low-hanging fruit to improve the team. Here's hoping.

I'm liking the prospect of Hankins and Mazy on short yardage too.

We don't do 3 down interior dlinemen. It's NTs in the base or bigger DEs at DT on pass downs. That's the defense.

At some point it’s insanity if you ignore NT over and over and expect a different result. I can tell you the last 2/3 the last 3 playoff losses were a result in not being able to stop the run.

Really? He's easily the best interior lineman on the team now and you don't think it does anything to improve the team?

It does. But if he can't pass rush, you need several players for one position.

They've been getting by with it. But they need a transcendent player who can pass rush and play the run.

Supposedly, they think Mazi has the tools to learn. So I'll go with their judgment for now. Excited to see how it turns out.
