I love this thread.

I have been saying the same things in the game thread.

I think more people need to watch more games besides JUST the Dallas game.

If they did do so we could eliminate 90% of the stupid threads that say "we drop too many INTs" and the ones drawing ridiculous comparisons with Roy and guys like Ed Reed.

All teams drop INTs... thats why they play defense.

All safeties give up completions and deep balls and take bad angles sometimes.

THe problems come when a person watches ONLY the Dallas game and draw conclusions from expections of being perfect.

Perhaps it's not that. Perhaps it's the people who think ONLY Dallas players can do no wrong.

If you are implying I am 1 of them then you are wrong.

I have criticized our players all year just as I have praised others.

I get pissed off when people compare our players to others around the league when these people dont even watch the players they draw comparisons from.

Figures, you talk like you know something, but when given the chance to show everyone you slink away into 3 word answers that have nothing to do with the post

Ok, so what about the ones that live, breath and drink football and have done so for 20 years and still come to that conclusion?

I made my point quite clear

My point was you were overexagerating

You said you weren't

I asked you to prove it

You retreated

Then they expect the impossible.

The fact is no matter how good a player is they will make mistakes.

Just because a Cowboy makes a mistake it gets put under the microscope by all the fans of that team. Which is fine... we are fans, we suport our team, and we want to win just as bad. But the comparisons to other players are aggravating becuase as you can see even guys like Ed Reed and Ray Lewis mess up sometimes and they are considered to be at the top of the list among their positions.

As for the 20+ year vets has Ed Reed been in the league for 20 years? So who cares... I am only 22 but I wouldnt say I know less about Ed Reed and Roy Williams becuase I am a youngin. I am old enough to have watched both since the start of their careers. So what edge do the old guys have?

My point was he sucks. It's still my point. All your efforts to play with words will not change that point. All your Internet muscles will not scare me into changing my point.

Roy Williams year can be summed up into 1 play. Just go back to the Seattle game and watch his whiff on Alexander on a critical 3rd down play when he had him 6 yards in the backfield and instead of making an good solid tackle all you saw was the blur and a ankle bitter blowing the play.

From Adam http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1308619&postcount=57

Roy finished with more tackles than he had last season, more interceptions, more than twice as many passes broken up and fewer completions allowed. And he had the same number of quarterback pressures -- even though the coaching staff was much more generous awarding pressures last year than this year.

Roy's only problem this year was that he was involved in allowing eight TD passes (according to STATS LLC.) -- some when he was in man-to-man coverage and some when he was helping someone else (or ran into the ref). In several games, he was involved in allowing only one or two catches -- but one was a TD catch, so people think he had a bad game in coverage. If he had allowed more catches but fewer touchdowns, he'd probably get a lot less criticism than he has gotten.

Adrian Wilson allowed far more catches and more yards, and he had fewer interceptions and PDs, but he allowed "only" six touchdowns, so he escapes criticism. Ed Reed allowed more catches and more yards, had fewer PDs, had the same number of interceptions and allowed six touchdowns. Sean Taylor allowed more catches and more yards, had far fewer interceptions and far fewer PDs, AND he led the league in TD catches allowed -- 11. Taylor also led the league BY FAR in missed tackles with 19, the highest total in the 11 years that STATS has been keeping track of them.

So a 10 year old could possibly have been watching football for 20 years?

Ok, lets make this easy. Based on my comment, how old am I?

Is it making any sence now?

Yes one of the best RB's in the league made a nice juke. Credit SA for that

As for Roy "sucks" you can try and make the point all you want reality and stats prove you wrong

Still waiting for the game with 12 missed tackles and out of position 90% of the time, you have that coming anytime soon?

The great thing about numbers is they can hide so much.

Such as what? If Roy was getting beaten frequently in coverage, the numbers would say so. But they don't. Like I said in that post that was quoted, Roy's only problem was being involved in too many touchdowns -- and that has more to do with where the offense is on the field than anything else. Allowing a 17-yard catch by a tight end in the red zone doesn't make you any worse than if you had allowed a 17-yard catch near midfield.

Exactly what are those numbers hiding? Things that never happened?

Age doesnt matter. That was my point. You made a comment about guys who watched the game for 20 years and that has nothing to do with anything.

Whatever though... I am missing too much of the game so have fun talking to yourself.

Can you explain how the REAL numbers hide anything? The only reason you dont like the numbers is because they dont fit your agenda. If they showed Roy was as bad as you say he is, you would be touting them all over the forum
