I was listening to Dallas sports radio host and writer for the Athletic Bob Sturm this afternoon and he was openly disgusted with the amount of talking Jerry Jones does weekly that ends up undermining the team.

In fact, Sturm went on to say that Jerry has basically become the Stephen A Smith of NFL executives. Jerry is on TV or radio a minimum of 4-5 times each week and his blustering, provocative and stupid comments are more like a carnival barker than a GM. He doesn’t even know the names of his players. It’s like Stephen A does- just try to be outrageous enough to get people to look and pay attention. It’s glorified click bait.

No other GM or sports owner does this. None of them hold pressers in the locker room after each game. Zero. Nada. He has 2 radio shows each week, has a pre-game interview before each game and a post game press conference after each game. And this morning through in an impromptu presser after his two previous radio shows earlier this week.

Why should anyone care? The only reason I care is all his stupid drivel undermines his head coach, his players and makes this team more like a circus than a real football team. The Dallas Cowboys players and coaches not only have to beat the opposing team, they have to overcome the absurdity of their owner/GM/president/hot dog selector and whatever other titles he holds.

It's sad to see Jerry gradually morph into AL Davis at the end.
Jerry has surrounded himself with so many yes men that their is NOBODY to step in and tell him to step back that he would listen to.
Jerry's attitude is, it's his team and he will do whatever he pleases.
It's getting embarrassing.

My issue with current mgmt is it is hard to be dominant over decades. So many things change and the level of competition, especially in professional sports, is so high that it takes constant focus to overcome your tendencies and the lack of inertia that typically happens in an organization.

That is why change is so good, and it often leads to continuous improvement. The goal of this exercise is to win, and eventually land the prize of the SuperBowl. Getting help towards that goal, and letting go of the reins to allow others to do the job is not a sign of weakness or lack of interest.

Ho would do himself and the organization well to pull back from the public showing, and let others take the lead and the reins.

It would engage those who work for him more, and also incentivize those who are capable of creative thought to work a bit harder not only for him, but their own goals.

Jerry really needs to push the microphone away, and let others do the talking. Some of the interview quotes from the past two weeks have been getting embarrassing.

There's no doubt he is an intelligent person, but some of the interviews aren't very glowing and show him in a good light.

Does Jerry ever shut up? What other owner speaks every day. No coach worth his salt will even come here.
