I will add Sam Williams to the mix. That guy can get up field. It really is nice to see a nasty pass rush.

what is telling from the game is the Bengals are not going to the playoffs with that bad of an Oline.they threw lot of resources in upgrading it but so far its been worse than last year.
They might have faced to two best pass rushes they will see all year already and they lost those games by a FG.
They need to protect better and that starts with coaching.
Burrow had sore ribs and they gotta stop hanging that kid out to dry with empty backfields.
But they are a good bet to recover and make the playoffs.
They have a good back an elite WR and a really good QB with a better than passable defense.

I think even at seasons start most Cowboys fans would have gladly taken a split of the first two weeks.
It sucked got a relatively healthy Tampa with all their weapons but they've been losing WRs left and right since.
Without Julio and Godwin I don't know if they score 10 against us.
Might have beaten us 9-6 lol.

I would give some credit to the DBs who did not give Burrow a place to throw the ball. On other of these plays Burrow had enough time to get rid of the ball but held it because he did not see an open man. The pass Rush was good but clearly coverage was also good.

Also, the Bengals have given up 13 sacks in 2 games. Pittsburgh had 7 against them and 0 the following week. The Cowboys had 6 sacks against the Bengals and 2 the prior week. As I always say, we need a bigger sample size. I like what we've seen but how effective will this be against teams will good offensive lines? This defense is about teamwork. Everyone getting their job done is what creates sacks and turnovers.

First two games against top NFL quality offenses with top quarterbacks, and this fan really likes the projections in the Cowboys ability to stay in the middle of any team it will play. To include Philadelphia.:)

I wonder what changed in Pittsburgh between weeks 1 and 2?

This is what a lot of teams are doing now. Blitz % are lower than ever and teams are following the Bills method of having a stacked D line, rushing only 4 and dropping everyone else back in coverage. That’s what they did to Stafford in Week 1 and demolished him.

If you can get a decent pass rush off a 4 man line that pressures the QB there’s no need to blitz so much. Just drop everyone else back in coverage. It’s a pass happy league.

This is what frustrates me....i want to see Sam with our other best rushers on the field more.

He has a knack, even at this early stage, of getting near the QB fast. I don't understand why we are not at least putting him out there in obvious pass rush situations.

I think they are trusting the vets more early. I say just throw him out there. DLaw can use sitting on the bench some more.
He is a rookie, they don't want to overload him. He will continue to see more and more reps as the season progresses.

There aren't enough OL to cover this many teams so everyone has learned you can beat up offenses by just attacking them.
A team can occasionally get a run game going to work that but as with SF last year or Tenn it can be tough to maintain.

They are rebuilding and playing a lot of young, unproven players.

yeah while also missing their premier pass rushers. just think that they have some pieces and probably a better overall defense than cinci who i'm not impressed by

Not to take anything away from the player who eventually got the sack, but......this killing of the quarterback was brought to you by the sack machine, Micah Parsons. The first play Parsons is breaking through a gap between the tackle and guard. This moved the QB to the right, which ended up being a sack. On the second play, Parsons is looping to the middle, forcing the QB to move to his left. The results ended up being a jail break for the defensive line and a sack.

While I think Parsons might end up leading the league in sacks this season, the ancillary bonus for the Cowboys is he doesn't have to get the sack to cause the sack. Charles Haley came to the Cowboys in 1992. He had a total of six sacks in the regular season that year. But the rest of the line benefitted from his savagery to harass the QB and toss him to the ground with regularity.

Watching Parsons devastate the QB is a thing of beauty. But watching the rest of the defensive line excel because of Parsons is absolutely sublime.
